Customers find these wooden blocks to be of good quality, not flimsy or crumbly, and particularly effective for teaching toddlers letters and numbers through play. However, customers disagree on the size, with some finding them too small for babies to play with. Additionally, several customers report issues with paint chipping.

roomie is jealous
As soon as these blocks arrived I knew i hit it gold, because my roomate of 7 years was sooooooooo JEALOUS. Incredibly well made blocks, perfect for building, spelling, and learning maths. The looks of envy were so powerful from the roomie, I immediately wrapped these in gift wrap and gave them to my Grandniece. She cried for a good 20 minutes because nobody wanted her to rip into them right away, but they do come with an excellent sack for storage!

Melissa and Doug never disappoint. I find them to be the best toys, every time.

Great
Little small but my 1 and 6 year old loves playing with them and big enough not to choke

Great blocks
I bought these for my year old grandson for Christmas and my son told me they are just like the ones he had as a kid. The baby loves them.

smaller than anticipated
these block were smaller and lighter than I thought they would be. Not really a problem. They were only carved on two of the six sides and had stamped pictures on the other four. The bag is small. The blocks fit but it is very difficult to get the bag to close. Every time someone picks the bag up blocks fall out.

I bought these wooden blocks primarily as props for my photography with babies. Although some reviewers have mentioned they are rather small, they are exactly the same size that I remember them from my childhood. There’s a good selection of letters and numbers so it’s easy to spell out words and short sentences with them. However I find that the yellow blocks don’t photograph very well! They feel durable, and my daughter (7 months old) also enjoys playing with these blocks which are a good size for her little hands to grasp.

We love Melissa and Doug toys and thought this would be an excellent addition to our son toy box. However, itâs a bit too small for him to play with right now.

As expected. And works well for block building games as well as learning things.
