RideSafer is a safe, convenient, easy, ultra-portable and comfortable alternative to booster seats and car seats. It is more convenient for travel, carpool, and/or multi-child families, and perfect for frequent taxi/Uber rides.
IT IS UNCONVENTIONAL and INNOVATIVE. This is a vest type Child Restraint System and uses a revolutionary technology to increase safety for the little traveler by optimizing the adult seat belt to fit 2 and 3-year-olds.
IT IS SAFE AND LEGAL. This is certified for use in motor vehicles, meets or exceeds all applicable FMVSS 213 requirements so is legal to use in all states and territories of the U.S.
IT IS COMPACT, ULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT, AND PORTABLE. This is perfect for a family travel, fits 3-children in the same row of a vehicle with comfort and ease; ridesharing, taxi, or rental car. Great for grandparents and caregivers because it’s lightweight and easy to install and use.
IT CAN BE USED WITH OR WITHOUT TETHER. This is to use with a vehicle lap belt and top tether by securing the vest with a top tether anchor in the vehicle. Also, this can be used with a lap and shoulder belt with or without a tether strap.
WHO CAN USE IT? The X-Small size is recommended to use 2 years and above and a weight between 22 lbs. and 40 lbs.

Moreover, they appreciate its safety features, with one customer noting it meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard requirements, and consider it worth the money. The size and comfort receive mixed feedback – while some find the small size perfect, others say it’s too big, and while some find it comfortable, others find it uncomfortable.

Great for family trips
Our family just got back from a Washington DC trip a and this worked out great. We practiced how to put it on our 2-year-old daughter (she wore a x-small) and how to install in a car prior to the trip, which I suggest just to become familiar with the product before you travel. This made traveling in share rides easy and convenient. We also didnât have to travel with a car seat because of this product.it looked very safe to use and felt very comfortable with her in it.

So light, portable and easy!
This has been amazing! We use on trips. So lightweight an easy. It does take longer than my sonâs normal car seat at home to buckle. But a small price to pay for lightweight safety!

Makes travel a breeze!
For spring break, we planned an international trip that would require several taxi rides/hired drivers. Bringing our usual forward facing carseat was not feasible. Our daughter is 5years old/41ish inches tall/43lbs. I bought a size small. It was honestly such a breeze to use. We packed it in a backpack and could easily get our daughter in and out of the car. I sat in the backseat with her on all our rides, and she was pretty comfortable the whole 8ish hours we used the vest over the course of a week. I felt very confident that she was safe, and this vest saved us a ton of hassle and stress.I HIGHLY recommend watching several of the RideSafer videos on YouTube to make sure you get the best fit and install. This seat is a bit different from a “normal” carseat (ex the shoulder straps don’t need to pass a pinch test, they can be a little loose). Take the time to watch the videos and practice *before* your trip. I did a couple test runs in the house while watching the videos and adjusting straps, then we tested it in the car. At first, I thought it was way too small for her belly, but after some adjustments and watching the videos, it was fine.

Great option for those rare times a car seat isnât doable!
This is a wonderful travel hack for kids the right size. Itâs lightweight and user friendly. It takes a tad longer than I had hoped to get them buckled in and snug, and itâs not entirely comfortable for longer rides. But for the ease of transport, itâs a great solution for times when a car seat simply isnât an option. We took our little guy to the theatre in an Uber. Bringing a car seat wasnât an option as weâd have nowhere to store it at the theater. This was a great solution for a short ride there and back!

Safe Car Seat Harness
Since buying Iâve used it once so far! Super safe, super easy to use! Comes with a crotch strap, back anchor straps that hook to the vest and then to the back anchor behind the seat. The seatbelt is secure in 3 different spots. Across the chest and 2 spots on the thighs. It fits nice on my son. I got him a large for the size 50-80lbs. Heâs 62 lbs and 4 years old with special needs. Comes in different colors, light weight, good price for item. You can easily take it on and off and you can wear the item in the store while shopping out your child back into the car and just add the seatbelt. Next is a neck pillow.

Quality control issues or sizing change?
I’ve purchased two Rider Safer Travel Vests in the past. One size Large, Model Number JD14201BLG, Manufactured September 2021. Another one was size Small, Model Number JD14101BLB, Manufactured September 2021. In December 2023, I purchased another Rider Safer Travel Vest, size Large, also Model Number JD14201BLG, Manufactured June 2023. However, the new Large vest has a rear waist pad that is two inches smaller than the Large vest manufactured in September 2021. Immediately on putting it on my son he complained that it was too tight. So, I’m not sure if there’s a quality control issue or the sizing has change. But I’m going to find out. I’m ordering an X-Large. See the picture and you’ll see that the new vest on top is clearly shorter by two inches. When the X-Large vest comes in, I’ll up date this review.Aside for this current issue, we’ve never had an issue – any issue – with the two vests manufactured in 2021. I will say that the new vest did not come with a neck pillow. I’m not happy about that change but it’s just $10 on the Rider Safer website. It would be nice if it was available for purchase at Amazon. But I couldn’t find it.Update to review:I received the XL version of the Rider Safer Travel Vest. The current XL version has the same size back waist pad as the 2021 Large version. The XL version does actually fit my oldest son. He didn’t immediately complain this time upon putting it on for the first time. The XL crotch strap is much much longer than on the Large version. My son is 7 years old and not particularly tall, probably average to just a bit shorter than average. I hope this helps you make a decision on which size to purchase for your child or children. All of my children are happy with their harnesses (travel vests). I definitely recommend this product. It’s way better than travelling with a car seat when we go on vacation!

I bought this for my toddler to use while traveling, and it was a game-changer! It made riding in Ubers and cabs so much easier. After adjusting the vest to fit him, I could quickly secure him in different transportation options. The vest ensured the seatbelt was properly positioned, providing a safe and comfortable ride.

Make sure you get the right size for your child according to the measurements (in the picture).Car seats are a better and safer option, but when traveling sometimes it’s hard to get one with you especially when it’s not allowed on the plane with Saudia airlines.
