Lighter than picture but love them
Beautiful plates but as some have said, they are lighter than they appear in the picture. I was hoping they had more of the purple color in them but I still love them. They are sturdy and feel quality.

Folks,I got this set to do an Amazon Vine review, so here goes! I got the grey set, which is a little lighter than the advertised pics show, but they still will look great in any decor..PROS -** Beautiful smooth finish to this glazed ceramic set!! I don’t mind a ‘rougher finish’ when it comes to ceramic dinnerware, but these dishes and bowls are smooth as silk!** These plates and bowls are weighted well – not too heavy to hold, but not so light that they feel cheap.** The plates have lipped edges, which prevents sauces or gravies from easily spilling.. Nice touch by the designers!** The bowls are very nice, and at 26 oz. can easily handle a good portion of soup or ice cream or whatever!** More on the bowls – they do not line up perfectly when stacking, but that does not bother me at all.. I LOVE the design of the bowls – they are more like crocks instead of other bowls that are lower and larger in diameter for the same volume..** These plates and bowls are microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe, which makes them very versatile and easy to clean! NOTE – I did test the large dish with chicken parm in the oven at 350 (after breading and pan frying the chicken) for about 15 minutes (to melt the cheese and heat the sauce on the chicken) with no issues..CONS – NONE!!!Bottom line – These dishes and bowls are BEAUTIFUL and CLASSY in an understated way!! I would feel comfortable hosting a fancy VIP party with them, while they are also perfect for everyday use with your family!!To be honest, these dishes and bowls are SO nice that I wish they were around 33 years ago when my wife and I got married! We could have saved people who bought us Pfaltzgraff dinner sets a LOT of money!!! LOL..I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dinnerware set!It is perfect as a 4 piece dinnerware set for a family, and is also perfect as a wedding gift or as a housewarming gift to new neighbors or to children who are moving out and starting their own lives..Amazing quality dishes and bowls at an amazing price!!!5 stars!!!

Nice set, no flaws, efficient storage
This set of vancasso PLAYA ceramic dinnerware (4 settings) is really nice quality. Good manufacture without bumps and flaws, I like the muted color for casual meals. One family member stated that the bowls look like dog bowls -which they do- but this allows for efficient stacking and storage. Very functional and practical, if you like the form.Recently, a large box retailer in our area has offered up 2 color variations on a (4 setting) set that is almost identical to this one with similar attributes (lead free, dishwasher safe, etc). They are also very attractive and offered around $20 cheaper, a heck of a deal. The price for this vancasso set is totally reasonable, but there is currently stiff competition out there. Either way, this is still good value for everyday dishes that look decent and wear hard.

heavy duty, pretty and classy design, I really like that the plates have a tall lip so that juicy cuts of meat or anything that needs to be “held in” more doesn’t spill off the plate and makes it easier to scoop onto the utensil.
