Awesome for red sensitive skin.
I have dry, sensitive, easily irritated mild rosacea skin. Especially my cheeks. This oat cleanser works better than even Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser because when I wake up in the am the redness is GONE. This oat cleanser does leave a residue but I think thatâs the oil and fatty acids staying on my skin and healing it. I follow-up with Alpyn toner after cleansing + Vit C serum from Vanicream and their lite moisturizer. So far I havenât had break outs. I dont wear a lot of make up and I donât use this to remove my eye makeup. So I canât speak about that.In the summer I use a thicker mineral sunscreen so I will probably continue using this as that type of sunscreen can be drying.Try the mini size out if youâre unsure!

HIGHLY recommend
I absolutely adore this and swear by it! Gentle enough not to burn your eyes, strong enough to take off prosaid. Wonderful moisture, you do have to use a damp cloth to get it off, but it comes right out. Takes any makeup off like a dream. And honestly I wouldn’t traid this for a luxury brand, it’s amazing.

Hard to remove
Removes makeup pretty well and does not sting eyes. However, you absolutely need to follow up with another water based cleanser after using it. After emulsifying and rinsing, it leaves an oily residue on my skin after use. It also has a grainy feel. I am not new to oil cleansers, I went back to my tried and true BANILA CO clean it zero. I do not recommend this for individuals with blepharitis, even after washing my face with soap, I’d notice my lashes were still oily. It is just overall a very difficult product to remove/rinse off.

No frills yet works effectively
I bought this as a blind buy as I needed it in a pinch. This is a fantastic balm that I’d repurchase in a heartbeat. It removes makeup effectively and provides light exfoliation with the oats added. Not irritating nor drying, great travel size. Squeezes out easily without great effort. Very affordable product that performs well.

Works for the price
Pros:PriceRemoves makeup effectively – even waterproof mascaraGreat for sensitive skinGreat for dry skinLove the squeeze lid packaging – the tubs get messy and annoying imoCons:Separates. – whenever I use this a thin oil dribbles out before the balm comes out. It has also leaked all over the cap when upright so I have to lay it down when not using it.Thick film of oil on face afterwards – not a problem if you follow up with another cleanser or want the added hydration.

Amazing for double cleansing
A million thanks to the Sephora team member who casually pointed me towards the INKEY list–the entire line has been blowing my mind! If you’re looking for a nice, unfussy balm to take off your makeup before using another cleanser to wash your face (aka double cleansing), this is a fantastic option. I’ve tried all kinds of makeup removing balms from low to high price points, and the INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm is my new favorite. You get plenty of it for the price, which is great since I don’t believe most brands when they say a dime-sized amount will take off all your makeup in every circumstance. Even if a little does go a long way, I wear a full face of makeup every day and need at least a quarter’s worth of any balm to get everything off to my liking. This bottle is going to last me a good while, and it will go even farther for people who prefer the less is more model.More importantly, the formula is awesome, one of those simple and to the point gems. It’s both gentle and very effective, a win/win for super sensitive/oily/prone to some serious hormonal acne skin like mine. It’s a little thicker than some of the other balms I’ve tried, but that’s been a plus for me. It feels like it’s really gripping the makeup on my face rather than just slip-sliding around the top layers of it. This balm also just FEELS clean, if that makes sense–it’s not chemical-y at all, it doesn’t have any added scents, but it also doesn’t smell too strongly or too strangely without them. Most makeup removing balms out there don’t sting my eyes, but plenty do get into my eyes and leave a bit of a blurring film. It’s another win/win situation with this balm: it removes every bit of makeup off my eyes (no morning raccoon eyes!) but doesn’t stick around once I wipe it clean. For clarity, I do use a makeup eraser to wipe the balm off, which I think is a game-changing step no matter what balm you use. After I’m done double cleansing, my skin never feels tight, dry or itchy in between the cleansing and moisturizing steps, and the gentle formula in this balm is a big part of that. I’ve seen a couple reviewers who say their skin felt greasy after using the balm, but for my part, I’ve never experienced that. That might be more of an issue if you want to use this as a standalone cleanser, but my skin just feels soft and makeup-free when I use it, even before I reach for the cleanser to complete my double cleanse. In all, I love this simple and effective balm, and I’ll definitely be adding it to my subscribe and save list. For the price and the quality, it’s won me over from reaching for any other brand I’ve tried before.

Gross-feeling, may toss
I bought this balm cleanser instead of a certain brand’s squalane cleanser because it was a few dollars cheaper. Lesson learned. The consistency and feel of it is like vaseline. It leaves a thick film of oil which you must then wash away with another cleanser. Double cleansing can he hard on skin, but you absolutely must with this, making it a poor choice for sensitive skin.It smells like rancid oil. It made my exfoliating skin brush so nasty I will need to de-grease it with dish soap, and it made my tub slippery. It doesn’t even remove makeup well. I have better luck with straight oil than I do with this horrible product.I tend to use products until they are empty but I am thinking of tossing this in the trash where it belongs and buying a tube of a proper balm cleanser like I should have in the first place.UPDATE: My husband almost slipped in the shower. I asked what was up and he said it was slick. I noticed it left a very slick slimy layer in the tub. So on top of being a horrible cleanser, it’s dangerous. Please see the straight, smelly oil coming out of the tube in the video. I promptly threw this junk in the trash where it belongs.

Great!
This is my face cleanser permanently! I have dry skin and I just use some micellar water and then rinse, then use this product and rinse again! That’s it, and my face looks so healthy and clean and is not super dry! I have been using it for more than a year and will keep using it!

At the beginning I didn’t like this balm because it had a very thick consistency which did not melt on my skin which meant lots of skin tugging, HOWEVER, one fine day I read the back unintentionally and realized I was using it WRONG! Here I was ignorantly thinking I’ve used balms before so of course I knew how to use this one… You actually have to wet your face first, and then massage onto your face where it gliiides and removes everything makeup, sunscreen, dirt…etc., then emulsify, then wash, then proceed with second cleanser and so on, et voila! Beautiful product!

I’ve had a few products from The Inkey List and loved them all, this one is no exception. A really great everyday cleanser that I can use am and pm.I actually got this as a cheaper alternative to the Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm and it’s amazing but quite pricey. This is a great alternative… the texture is slightly different but still great and there isn’t really a scent which is good for sensitive skin but doesn’t make it a little less luxurious. It’s also really good for taking off makeup and leaves your skin feeling clean, well balanced and moisturised.I just pop a small amount on the high points of my face and mix with a small amount of water to loosen then rub in circular motions… I then use a flannel or muslin cloth to remove the excess or sometimes leave on for a little while as a hydrating mask.Definitely will be buying it again and would recommend buying it if you’re not sure about it because it’s so cost-effective too.
