Customers say
Customers find the beach tent easy to assemble, with one noting it requires no stakes or complicated parts, and appreciate its lightweight design that easily fits back in the carrying bag. Moreover, the tent provides good shade for multiple people, works well in summer sun, and offers plenty of space, accommodating up to three adults and a child comfortably. However, customers disagree on the tent’s wind resistance, with some reporting it holds up well while others find it unstable in windy conditions. Additionally, the sturdiness receives mixed feedback, with some saying it stays up well while others report issues with poles falling over.

Great!
Purchased specifically for a Florida gulf coast beach vacation in July 2024 for our family of 4 and it got the job done! We will take it back again this year. Keeping tension when setting up is key. If itâs windy, dig holes in the sand to put the full corner âbagsâ in, and then bury them for extra stability. It does help to have a larger shovel than the scoop it comes with. My only complaint is that itâs impossible to set up/take down without getting completely covered in sand but maybe thatâs the Midwest girl in me not used to sand in everything. We rinsed it out at our vacation rental, brought it back home on the airplane and rinsed it out well again at home, ran it through the washer and air dried and itâs like new again. Itâs worth the money to purchase it and fly to a destination versus renting shade once you get there if you plan to use it multiple times. Would recommend!

Always works, no matter how windy it is!
This is the second one we have ordered. We go to the beach regularly during the summer, so we have used this in all types of conditions. We have never had a problem with keeping it standing – even on extremely windy days. It is lightweight and super easy to set up. Be sure to watch the short video of how to set it up. This will help you avoid the reasons why people with similar products can’t keep them standing. The secret is that the TOP of the pole points into the wind. Having the sand bags as part of the tent makes it compact and may contribute to why it is so stable on windy days. I would highly recommend this product!

Great Purchase!!
We overnighted this for our beach trip this weekend after reading a ton of reviews, and Iâm so glad we did.Pros: itâs light weight, no rusting, and sturdy even on a windy day (itâs the beach, of course itâs windy), and has great coverage.Cons: it took more time (lots of sand digging) to set up than a regular canopy. I watched the videos beforehand and once we figured it out, it was very easy. Weâve been here for 5+ hrs and it hasnât moved!Would definitely recommend! Weâve been through so many canopies in the past and Iâm hopeful this one will last a long while!ETA: it was soooo easy to take down and pack up!!

A little hard to stabilize on windy beach days

So worth the $
So, so great. Easy to set up and windproof. We live in Florida and the beaches get super windy. I have seen so many tents go flying and hit or almost hit someone. This one stands up to windy conditions, packs light and super easy to set up. Get one already. I wish I hadnât waited this long!

Large was almost perfect for 2 people, maybe not 4
We purchased the 4 person tent for a beach vacation. We’ve gone through so many umbrellas over the years and they never stand up, so we thought we’d give this one a try. We appreciated that it was lightweight and compact, as it traveled with us in our checked luggage. The first use did take a bit of practice to get it up and going. It was highly annoying that all the poles were wrapped in lightweight plastic and we had a tough time safely removing it in a steady 20mph wind without it flying away. I definitely recommend removing all packaging before taking it into the wild.Secondly, the compact shovel was a bit too compact, and we assume that it will be the least durable component of the system. I plan to invest in a high quality stainless steel scoop for future use. Also, the filling of the bags with sand is by far the most time consuming portion of setting up the tent. This isn’t so bad, but it leaves you stuck in the hot sun until all the bags are filled with sand. I suggest investing in a second more durable scoop or shovel so that two people can fill bags at one time. Also the plastic shovel was fine on loose sand, but when we encountered harder more compact sand I would have appreciated a stronger shovel. It’s very important to follow the relatively simple and straight forward instructions: fill the bags and stretch it out. On our 5th and final day at the beach we watched a crew of 6 people struggle to get a similar tent set up. We told them to stretch it out and fill the bags, but they didn’t want to listen to us experienced oldsters, so their struggle continued much longer than necessary. As for the shade, the fast moving late summer sun presented challenges with the smaller tent, every hour we had to adjust our seating positions to stay in the shade. At times during the high sun the shade was plenty, but quite often as the sun was sinking lower we’d find that we just didn’t have enough. A great feature however was being able to use 2 or 3 poles as necessary to angle the shade some, however we may yet consider purchasing a larger tent just to maximize our shade and minimize our movements. Another thing we appreciated about the tent was that given the 4 fixed points it was very sturdy, even in high winds. Many people we saw had a different new shade canopy that consisted of one large pole arched into the sand with 1 anchor point up wind. While this system created a good area of shade, we imagine the constant flapping of the canopy was louder than we desired. The Sun Ninja provided quiet shade instead.

Perfect. My husband didnât know I had bought this and was impressed with it when we assembled it. It lasted all day on a windy beach day. Our puppy also loved the shade it provided.

Donât go for the less expensive rip offs!!!
So, after trying out competitors less expensive alternatives and sending them back due to poor design and quality I spent the extra cash and purchased the Sun Ninja. All said, it is of excellent quality, holds up extremely well in high winds and has been all round much more durable. So⦠just wait for it to go on sale and/or spend the extra cash. Itâs worth it.

This is a photo of our trip to Sardinia, Italy. We bought the XL version and brought it all the way from Ireland knowing how hot it will get here in summer. We have two young kids so wanted to make sure theyâre fully covered. It was quick and easy to setup and very stable even in a fairly strong wind. Gives excellent shelter. Everyone on the beach was looking jealously at us as they all had the standard small parasols. It does cost more than most brands but you have to pay for quality. Iâd definitely recommend this to anyone heading for the sun. Enjoy!
