Appreciate the quality of product. Ample room for my cot and camping gear with room to spare. The Outfitter series is well worth the minimal increase in price for durability and ease of using the larger zippers. Good tent for the price!
This is the first Alpine Mountaineering tent I’ve purchased. Others complained about the tent being to airy. This can be controlled by how you set your rainfly and your window openings. I ordered the ground sheet for this tent. After 2 days of hard South Carolina rain I’ve only seen a few drops of water in the tent. No floor punctures either. The aluminum poles made the tent worth the price. Two reasons I’m only going to give this a 4 star rating. First is the floor pan design. It won’t last like a Coleman tent floor even with the ground sheet. The ground sheet is basically the same density as the floor pan. Last, this tent was either made on a Monday or Friday. There’s one loop missing for the mess loft. Not that I’ll use it, but it speaks to quality control.

Great tent, light weight, heavy rain the first night that i used it. I was a Scoutmaster for 10 years and would recommend this tent for 3 season use and general backpacking.

I won’t be using the tent until next year but I like what I have so far
I did a quick setup at home and the tent is large. I ordered four person version. I won’t be using the tent until next year but I like what I have so far.

Excellent Quality
The Meramac 4 person Outfitter is a best-kept-secret. This is a great tent with excellent stitching and good quality fabrics. The Outfitters are equipped with super light aluminum poles, 10mm door zips (8mm window zips), a thick tub floor and attractive colors. This tent you can almost stand up in, making it easy to get in and out and move around inside. You cant find a higher quality double awning, double door, closeable windows tent anywhere but from Alps. Why is the Outfitter not reviewed online anywhere. The only reasons I didnt give it 5 stars are: The Dongles are not fastened well (see photo) and the Dongle Straps for the windows and doors are too short. I may fix that myself. Also, the side mesh cannot be zipped shut. This is great for airflow but in cold ADK nights the side mesh needs closeable side panels. I will sew on a zipper-door over the side mesh panels eventually after the novelty wears off. Alps, thank you for not adding those ugly plastic peekaboo side-windows found on the fly of your other tents. All-in-all a great car-camping tent and even light enough for a mile or two trail-hike.

A decent tent
I just spent 8 night in this tent in all kinds of weather. This is my review of things I like and things I donât. This tent is fairly waterproof. It does a good job fighting off the water from the top to the floor. During a hard shower, we had water puddled under the floor. Not a drop inside. You do want a ground cover. The zippers are good and durable. It is fairly easy to set up and put away and fit back in the bag. I also like the neon strings and the 2 doors. The doors are nice and big and I can stand in the tent.Hereâs what I donât like: you cannot fully close the windows on the sides. The rain fly covers the windows. If you have the slightest gap between the rain cover and the screen, you will have water in the rain. If itâs cold, you canât close that window for warmth. If you push on the side wall, from inside the tent the screen will come out from underneath next the rain cover which could also cause a leak in the rain. (My kids leg pushed against it while she slept.) It would be nice if it had a vestibule.Otherwise itâs a good little tent that we really put through itâs paces.
