works well
got this to message my thighs and calves as I’ve had issues with cramping and it has helped. having the floor space to use it can be an issue though.

Excellent recovery tool
I’ve been struggling with back pain for some time now and decided to explore some tools to get relief myself and I read a lot of mixed reviews, some saying that this was too firm or poorly constructed, but this is perfect for my needs.I will say that there is a noticeable line where two halves of the cylinder meet, not sure why they mold them that way but it does not appear to affect the utility and you can’t feel it either when using it.This roller is what I’d call medium firm. It’s not super soft where you’ll sink right through it nor is it so hard that it has no give. It’s dense enough that if you press hard enough you can indent it with your thumb/finger but not much.I have followed some basic “roll out” recovery videos to learn the basic moves but generally just explored what felt best for my body. I use this regularly to crack my back after evening yoga, just lay down with the roller about shoulder/shoulder blade height with your hands laced behind your head and just exhale and roll up and it releases so much tension.I think this has just the right amount of firmness and texture for the price. Not too overwhelming for a beginner either. Would recommend.

Too hard
I read the reviews and most people seemed to think the hardness is perfect. It is like hard rubber to me. Perhaps it is age, I am 70 and my muscle tone is not great and it really hurts. My trainer says it hurts because the area I use it for is damaged. Could be, but I’m not using the item because of the extreme discomfort. I would caution non athletes.

Simple, works
This is nothing fancy, it’s just a cylinder of foam. It seems to be fairly durable, but if a dog or child chewed on it, it could definitely degrade fairly easily. It seems like it will last a good while if stored properly though, and it feels nice to stretch your back on; recommended.

Relief for Sore Muscles
Purchased this foam roller to use after high intensity trainings and weightlifting workouts. Itâs JUST what I needed! I bought the XL size (I think) and it works perfect. I specifically enjoy how it soothes my upper thighs after a hard workout. Price point was great and the foam material is very dense and durable. 10/10 would recommend and would purchase again!

Perfect foam roller
Perfect foam roller, not too hard, not too soft. Very happy! I roll my back on it, legs, and it is just as much as i can handle and not too much.

GAIAM roller
This GAIAM roller began as a very comfortable medium firm roller, but after only 3 months of rolling 2 times a week , it has begun to compress. Not a good product for the price.

Medium firm. Just what I needed. The firmer models were made of styrofoam material. This one is made of a dense type of foam but NOT styrofoam which creates a medium firmness. The 18′ inch length is just enough span to provide coverage to both left and right shoulders. I’m 5’5″ and 165 lbs.

I’ve been looking for one of these for ages but never found the right size – I use it for upper back opening yoga exercises. This size is perfect. In addition, it’s well made, nicely packaged, and comes with a useful DVD showing other useful exercises. Very useful for anyone practising yoga. I also like all the other GAIAM yoga equipment.
