Bananas for the Soul –
Absolutely Amazing!
I’m the type of person that will be wearing shorts and a tank top and be totally dripping with sweat while everyone else around me is wearing pants and a sweater and still shivering. Needless to say, leather seats in the Houston, TX heat and humidity are nothing short of absolute torture and endless suffering, with nothing but embarrassing sweat down my back, and even worse, my butt and legs, to show for it. I’ve somehow managed to dodge non-cloth seats for 43 years. This past January, I decided a Volkswagen Tiguan was the vehicle for me, only I couldn’t find one with all the upgraded features I wanted with cloth seats. I decided I could just buy seat covers if it got too bad. It didn’t take long before I was second guessing my decision. For a few months now, I’ve been looking at seat covers but couldn’t decide on one I was completely happy with. After walking into the grocery store looking like I’d been sitting in puddle of water one too many times, I decided I couldn’t handle it anymore!Initially, I was just looking for a cloth seat cover to put over the leather ones. However, in my searching, I came across a cover similar to this one, but it had horrible reviews. I was devastated as a cooling seat cover sounded awesome. I decided it was too perfect of an idea to abandon it without further research. As fate would have it, I found there were quite a few other options. I didn’t have a huge budget, so the ones costing $100+ weren’t an option and the reviews for the less expensive ones weren’t all that great. Then, I found SNAILAX!Regardless of which model I considered, almost every review was very complimentary. My seats already have heaters, which I don’t need anyway, so the cooling model with the massager sounded perfect! The worst things I read about were the placement and/or noise of the fan and the beige straps, although even those comments weren’t really deal breakers for those writing the reviews, and they definitely weren’t things that would bother me, especially the comments about the straps being beige. Seeing as how my seats are already beige, that made them a perfect fit for me!After taking about a minute to install, I got into my car, excited to test it out. I immediately noticed a difference! My butt felt so nice and comfy, as awkward as that might sound! I could feel the airflow that was subtle, yet effective. The fan placement wasn’t an issue at all. Although I’m a woman, I don’t drive with my legs too close together (I think one review mentioned it might be awkward for a woman), so the fan placement wasn’t the least bit uncomfortable. The noise of the fan wasn’t really noticeable due to my radio being on, drowning out the noise; my AC being on high which masked the sound; the road noise being louder than the fan; or any combination of those. The only time I really heard it was when I intentionally turned off the AC and radio while my vehicle was at a complete stop, just to see how loud it actually was. Even then, it wasn’t bothersome at all. It was nothing more than a calming white noise, as I’ve read it to be in other reviews. I tried the massaging feature, just to see how it felt, and whereas I wasn’t blown away by finding it to be amazingly soothing, it definitely wasn’t something I’d consider uncomfortable. On a long road trip, I’m sure I would appreciate it much more. I did have to lower my seat a tiny bit, but that’s nothing that’s really even worth mentioning.I really can’t find anything to “complain” about. I suppose, if I had to find just one thing “wrong” with it, it would be the slight vibrations created by the fan, but all-in-all, I wouldn’t call it problematic, especially if you were running the massager. I would imagine the two sensations would commingle into a single one. By itself, I’d say it was no more noticeable than the simple vibrations caused by basic driving, just centralized into one location.I would be very, very highly likely to recommend this to anyone looking for a bit more cooling around the seat/back area. I’ve never tried one of the more expensive models, so I really can’t compare it to that, but with the awesome satisfaction I’ve found with this one, I really don’t see a need to try any others. This definitely met, even surpassed, the expectations I had. I really can’t see anyone going wrong with this. If anything changes as time goes on, I’ll definitely update my review.

is an amazing improvement on comfort as I deal with stop-and-go traffic
I’m a taller guy driving a BMW 325 with leather seats, toward the sun to and from work. Having this under me, rather actively circulating air or not, is an amazing improvement on comfort as I deal with stop-and-go traffic.Strengths: Best circulation I have ever tried, even after 3 months of daily commute of 30-60 minutes each way. None of the venting has collapsed or shrunk. The high-grip vinyl/plastic coating on the back means it doesn’t slide on leather. Two controllable speeds with air intake at the bottom of the seat, so I can send more AC to the floor if I want more chilled air up my back. It turns off by itself after about… I think 30 minutes, which means it won’t kill you battery if you get out of your car and forget it is on. The vibration cycle is nice every once in a while.Weakness: The back vents are a little weaker flow than the the legs, so I end up moving a bit in my seat periodically to flush air. It does raise you up in your seat by about 0.75 inch, so if you are close to the ceiling now (as I was), then you’re there now. But the improvement in my ride was so marked that I just reclined my chair a little move for the height difference.I don’t show up home with my shirt back sweaty anymore. Very solid product and I would recommend it.

Works – Makes Drives on Hot Days a Little Nicer
I drive a lot for my job covering a territory that includes the deserts of California and Arizona where temperatures routinely hit 118+ in the shade and temperatures inside my vehicle can hit over 165+ when parked. Luckily I usually drive a newer vehicle (truck for now) and the AC does a pretty good job of keeping the inside temperature reasonable, however when I get to my destination the back of my shirt is usually damp from sweat.Trying to make the time in my truck a little more comfortable I went searching for seat cushions and fans and found the SNAILAX Cooling Car Seat Cushion. The price was reasonable and I thought what the heck, let’s give it a try.The cooling seat cushion came with a DC car adapter as well as an AC adapter for use indoors. Installation was easier than expected and I basically just sat the cooling cushion on the driver’s seat, buckled the strap around the headrest, and then plugged the DC adapter into the 12-volt accessory socket and then into the seat cushion. Note: There are included attachments to use to secure the lower portion of the seat that I have yet to use as the cooling seat cushion has nice gripping dots on the backside that help prevent it from sliding around.Once installed and plugged in I had to adjust the seat down roughly 1/2″ to compensate for the height of the seat cushion. I also made sure the seat cushion fan was hanging freely in front of the seat with no obstructions. I was a little worried that the fan would get in the way while driving but it does not. After that I simply pressed the fan button on the seat cushion and the fan started pumping air though the 12 pairs of air vents (24 total) in the seat cushion. A second press of the fan button turned the fan down to a lower setting and a third push turned it off. Note: The fan can be heard running, but I’m a fan of white noise so I actually find the fan noise soothing.Next to the fan button is the button for the massage or vibration feature. Again one press for high, and another press for low, and a third to turn it off. Note: The fan will stay on indefinitely and the massage function will automatically turn off after a preset time, I think roughly 30 minutes. They will also turn off when I turn my truck off and will stay off until I turn them on again once I have restarted my truck. The first morning I used the air cooled seat cushion is wasn’t very hot outside and I was wearing thick clothing so even thought I could feel the air circulating I couldn’t tell much of a difference and turned it off. Later that day however it got warm out and when I got back in the truck from a gas stop I turned the fan on and could immediately feel a difference.Note: Air is drawn in by the fan and is forced out of the 24 air vents in the seat cushion portion and the back portion. The air vents are located in the recessed channels formed in the seat cushion allowing air to flow while sitting. However, your body and clothing will block some of these vents, I find the air flow on the seat a little stronger than on the back.Since that day it has gotten much hotter outside and the cooling effect of the air cooled seat cushion is much more noticeable. I can now arrive at my destination without a sweaty shirt and back making my day a little more comfortable. I’ve tried the massage/vibration feature a few times and it’s not a feature that I really need, but some might really enjoy it.I’m happy with this purchase so far. If I experience any issues I’ll update this review.

Not efficient, and price is too high, massage is just a vibrator
