Fantastic!!
I think this roller is fantastic and very original! I read several reviews before purchasing but I decided to judge myself by ordering it. I needed a roller specifically for my neck and this is perfect. Love the concept of having different massage zones plus the size works great.. I also own the black rumble roller which I use daily and an OPTP medium density. I have to mention this roller is very well made of quality materials and hopefully last a long time.

Takes a bit to get used to, but helps loosen muscles
The ridges differ on each side and one edge, and represent the intensities: low, medium, and high. The packaging illustrates how to use the rocker on different body parts. I used the medium on my upper back and neck, and the low on my calves. As you move your body over the massager, the ridges roll back and forth over your muscles. My calf muscles are pretty tight, so I could only go back and forth over the massager a few times in one sitting. It took me a few uses to figure out how to get it in the right position and how to get my body to move over it properly.

My preference is the rounded model
I found that I prefer the release roller without the flat edge. Product quality is fine, it’s just a personal preference.

A specialized roller for a specialized purchase
This product is excellent at Im what it does, and like everything TRX makes, it is brilliantly designed and superbly executed, but let me be clear: this should not be your first foam roller, or even one of your first several mobility tools. If you are looking for gentle, full body rolling, buy a cheap generic roller at Walmart. If you are a lifter, get a rumble roller or one of the competing options with some aggressive texture. If you want to go after trigger points, buy a ball. What this roller does very well is shear tissue that itâs hard to put weight onto with a traditional roller. If you are a big guy who finds it hard to dig into your calves, for instance, or your lats with a conventional roller, this is a game changer. The âbladeâ edge of this is narrow enough that just the weight of your legs on it can really dig in. You can put it on a flat and Also really grind on spinal erectors or hamstrings or other groups of big thick muscles, but if you want to keep rolling smoothly up a whole hamstring or quad or back, this isnât the tool. You do need to position it, consciously target something, and work on it. That being said, there is no soft tissue gadget that has ever worked better for my calves, and Iâm learning to really get into problem areas on my side glutes. Iâm thinking it might be really useful for the bottoms of the feet too (lay it on the flat, other foot on the floor, put as much weight as you can into target foot on top) but I get better results with a hard ball under my weird shaped feet.

I prefer regular foam rollers
After using this rocker multiple times, I believe regular foam rollers are more useful for general use. The soft side of this rocker does not do much. The medium side acts like regular foam rollers but need to be moved multiple times to cover bigger areas. Only the hard edge is different and effective for athletes. The TRX training videos are very useful.

Not all that itâs hyped up to be.
Yes this is a specialized roller to pinpoint specific spots. A lacrosse ball works one million times better and is easier to use. This thing is the most frustrating recovery tool Iâve ever used. The stupid fin thing limits motion to like 1 inch. Again, a lacrosse ball works better if I wanted 1 in of pin point pressure. I would borderline say this thing sucks.

Rocking is better than (foam) rolling. Here’s why…
Have you ever tried a new product, and known—within seconds— that is a game changer? I’ve been using foam rollers for about 7 years. I use them before, during and after work-outs and/or sometimes before bed. Rollers help release the fascia, stimulate blood flow for healing and helps break up knots. After a while though foam rollers just ‘roll’ right under the knots instead of breaking them up. So, I started using foam rollers with ‘teeth’. It didnt take long to get used to teethed rollers of varying heights, however, before long, they too were not powerful enough to dig into the knots. For instance, if I rolled my quads, calves or back with either toothed or smoothed rollers, most of the rolling motion was wasted as it rolled right over the hard knots. I had never heard of the TRX rocker, but it intrigued me, so I couldnt wait to give it a try. After reading the included pose guide and then googling videos on how to use the roller, I knew it was for me. Instead of rolling over knots, it has grooves which catch the muscle and fascia and pull on it as you rock it back and forth or roll side to side. As another reviewer said, it is awesome for calves, as I can sit in my chair and literally rock the knots while watching a football game. For folks who are serious about rehab, physical therapy or recovery, I couldnt recommend this more. In fact, I seriously doubt I use my rollers much anymore. This has replaced most of them. It is also a great price at the time of the review.
