Customers say
Customers find the air mattress comfortable, easy to inflate and deflate, and appreciate its lightweight design for backpacking. The size receives positive feedback, with one customer noting it rolls up nicely, and they consider it well worth the price. The quality and insulation receive mixed reviews – while some praise its construction, others report decreased quality, and while some like the insulation, one customer mentions it’s not great in cold weather. The air retention is a concern, with multiple customers reporting it doesn’t hold air properly.

Lightweight, compact, great quality.
I used an older version of this sleeping pad for three years. I used it on a rim to rim trip across the Grand Canyon and two source to sea trips down the Mississippi River. Thatâs about 150 days of use.I never did like the valve on that first version that I had. It was difficult for me to use. Eventually, the valve started leaking, probably from my misuse. This newer version of the sleeping pad has a different valve and I like it. I have high hopes that this sleeping pad will last as long as the first one.Itâs very comfortable.

Been good to me
So far I’ve been pretty pleased with this pad. I’ve used it probably 25 times and haven’t had any issues. Not great in cold weather, but if you double up with a foam pad below its amazing. Packs small, and the inflate valve is easy to use.

Just short of excellent.
Great pad for short stays!!! Comfortable enough. Packs small and light. Could use a bag inflator. Having to blow it up is the only reason I didnât rate it 5 stars.

Comfortable
I got this instead of the folding pad because Iâm a bigger guy 6â-215lbs and I needed more cushion. The only downside about this pad is when I moved it would make noise thatâs magnified by the silence in nature at night so the tents next to me would hear me when I would move. The valve to inflate and deflate is large so break down is fast and easy.

Comfortable and packable.
I’ve only used this a few times and I have previously used foam pads, both important caveats. With that said, this pad is great! I can sleep on my back, side or stomach in comfort. The pad stays in its position reasonably well, but if there isn’t enough friction between your tent floor and the pad that should be able to be fixed pretty easily. It’s also great for crashing at a friends place if they don’t have a spare bed.As for packing, its very small when deflated and fits easily in the included bag. I can stuff my deflated pillow in the same bag and theres still room if you wanted to stash a small headlamp, chapstick or other bedtime essential in there.Highly recommend! At the price you can scarcely do better.

Only lasted one night
Would give 0 stars if I could. We purchased this for my daughter to use on a 2-week backpacking trip. The first night it was great, but it sprung a leak the second night. Despite tons of checking for holes/rips/tears, she couldnât get it to inflate without deflating immediately. Needless to say, the rest of her trip was pretty undomfortable!I have reached out to Klymit twice with no response.

LOVE this mattress – highly recommend pairing with the KLYMIT quilted cover for cold weather use
*I had previously written a long, detailed, beautiful review for this item, but Amazon deleted my review, so now you get the simple re-written review. For cold weather, pair this with the fitted KLYMIT quilted cover and fit it into a 20’F mummy sleeping bag with a foam pad under the sleeping bag to insulate you from the cold ground. I slept on top of a mountain in NY in late October (40’F overnight) in nothing but leggings and a t-shirt and I was WARM! (I am normally cold, being 165lbs and 5’*’, lean athletic build and no fat to keep me warm. This mattress was easy to inflate, lightweight, and fits perfectly in my mummy bag. Highly recommend!

Check which nozzle before you buy
I have a couple of other Klymit mattresses and this one I don’t particularly like because the nozzle where you fill it with air is round and flat and it is hard to inflate and really really hard to close securely. I understand that they may have wanted to make it flat because it would have been easier to pack and you wouldn’t feel it maybe sleeping on it but it’s just too hard to use. I think it’s the newer one that has this nozzle. If you buy one of these they’re great but make sure you get the older one that has the nozzle that sticks out.

I weigh 110kg and sleep great on these. They’re way more comfortable than you’d think for how thin they are. They pack down small. They provide some good insulation from the ground. Glad I bought them over a large cbersome air mattress which I could never get a decent sleep on.
