Customers say
Customers find the magnetic wooden blocks beautiful and worth the price, promoting creativity and imaginative play. They are fun for kids, with customers particularly enjoying the wheels. The durability and buildability receive mixed feedback – while some find them well-made, others report poor quality workmanship, and while they are great for very young children, some find them extremely frustrating to build with.

I would build my house out of Tegu blocks if I could…
Tegu blocks are absolutely amazing. My three year old son loves this so much and can spend a long time constructing really elaborate towers, bridges, power plants, and other structures emulating the things he sees on his construction show. These things are durable, they get cleaned up relatively quickly because they’re magnetic, and you can request them as gifts for birthdays and your child will be delighted to get an expanded set of materials. They’re pricey, but very worth it. Just look through Amazon and see where you get the most block for your buck!

A great toy
This set was expensive, but important to give to my granddaughter. She has so much that is plastic, gaudy, and ultimately unsustainable, breakable, and will end up as trash and polluting. These blocks are sustainable, sturdy, and educational. Also, it involved more than one family member to put them together. A win, win in my book.

Great birthday gift for preschoolers
The quality of the wood is great! Does not break easily and looks like it will stand the test or time. The surface is smooth. Size of the magnet is fit for pre-schoolers. Help great with dexterity. Even older sibling enjoyed playing – especially with the wheel. Great that the box had some model images that my toddler try to re-make. Kept toddler busy for 30 mins or more.

Know Thy Audience
These are great if you know what you’re buying. We just bought this as our second set, and have a different set in the Sunset colorway. They are blocks for older kids or for design conscious parents, not necessarily the best everyday blocks for a toddler. I have an 18 month old and he loves sticking them to the fridge. They also look nicer strewn around my house than a lot of other toys, and they photograph well. However, as just blocks he currently gets frustrated with them because obviously he doesn’t understand polarity yet. He gets more use from basic wooden blocks for that aspect right now, although I expect these to grow with him better as they have that added element to keep him interested as he gets too old for regular blocks. My dad actually likes playing with these with him. We have also had an issue with paint starting to chip around the edges. Toddlers are rough, but I would have expected a bit better durability on the finish for the price point. Overall great item in spite of this, especially if you can get them on sale.

Great concept, poor execution
Got this for my toddler, and really wanted to like it, but poor design choices really hold it back. Two things in particular are very frustrating: First, the longer pieces have no more magnets than the small ones. So what should be a backbone piece that allows connecting a lot of other pieces to… can’t. Second, the wheels are beyond worthless, as the magnets simply can’t support any weight. Need much stronger magnets for the wheels or some axle mechanism to bear the weight. The pieces are beautiful but that doesn’t make a practical toy.

Tegu blocks are great, albeit extremely overpriced
I love these blocks and went a little overboard on buying sets when they finally went on sale. These were priced very well at this store and I really like them for my daughters. They even shipped them better than Target, who just put the box in a bag, which was subsequently bashed up by the time it got to my door. This shipper was in a box with padding so the box was still gift-worthy when I received it. The only thing I dislike about the Tegu blocks is that the longer pieces have difficult to find magnetic spots. I’d recommend a smaller set if you have younger children that won’t sit still to figure out where they are. I prefer the Tegu blocks over all others I’ve seen people recommend as alternates because I like wooden toys. They are more durable than plastic ones where the magnets could dislodge when broken.

Bought this set, the Magnatiles 115 piece Metropolis set and a basic Magformers 30 piece set.Though these look and feel the best, itâs difficult to build with even for an adult because the magnets are only at the ends and orientate one way (Magformers has flipping magnets and Magnatiles just kinda connect together). For the price there are much fewer pieces so what you can build is limited. Structures are also pretty fragile.Magnatiles make much nicer buildings for use with other toys (like as a dollhouse or garage). Magformers are cool because you can lay them out in 2D then pull the tiles up into a 3D house or ball which seems like magic to kids! They get a lot more play than the Tegu which I suppose do make pretty nursery decor.

These magnetic blocks are the best! We have multiple sets and its so fun seeing all the cool things you can make. So many toys get thrown to the side and forgotten about ,, not these! If your looking for a new activity i highly recommend ..worth the money hands down! Plus they are high quality and durable wood!
