Great tent and easy to setup by yourself even in bad weather!
I really like this tent. Plenty of room for a 2 person tent. Plenty of storage including mesh storage in the ceiling. One of the things I have to have and maybe it’s just me, is a ceiling loop so you can hang a light. It’s a pet peeve of mine. Price was right as well. Very very simple and quick to setup. Especially if you are by yourself in bad weather. The only minor thing I don’t like about the tent are the plastic windows on the rain fly. Might be an issue if you like 100% privacy. I easily fixed the problem with some painters tape so it comes off easily and doesn’t leave adhesive on the fly when you take off the tape. I now have several Alps Mountaineering products and they are quality products.

It’s so easy to put this up and the material it’s made of handles rough wind and heavy rain really well! I love the small window because it gives me some privacy and yet also opens up the world outside when I need to peek out. I also enjoyed the experience of stargazing and waking up to a wonderful view of the morning when I didn’t have the rain fly up. The only thing I didn’t like were the aluminum stakes because they easily bent, but overall this was a good buy!

The perfect balance between weight, size, and price.
During the search for a two person backbacking tent I did a LOT of research and I think I found the perfect balance between weight, space, and price. At 5lbs 9oz this is not the lightest 2 person tent but it by far the best value for your money. Many other 2 person tents I had found weighted less but cost much more and had less floor space. My fiance and I don’t mind carrying an extra pound or two if it means we have space to move around a little inside the tent. That being said, there is no room inside the tent to keep your packs. On each side of the tent there is a vestibule formed by the rain fly to store your bags and other gear.Overall the tent is easy to set up and take down and between the 2 vestibules and gear loft has plenty of storage. I would recommend this to any couple looking for a 2 person backpacking tent.

Haven’t used it in the field yet, but I did set it up in my back yard. It is roomy and I like all the storage options including the loft and extra large vestibules…one reason I bought this tent. Another was the dual doors for 2 person egress etc. The quality looks very good and I think it will hold up very well. I repacked it using some compression straps and was able to get it down to a smaller packing sixe to fit my backpack with no problem. I don’t remember the advertised weights, but I weighed it in at 6 lbs. 9oz on my digital scale. That was tent, poles, included tent stakes and guy lines…and also includes the additional floor saver purchased separately, which you could probably live without if you are careful with setup location. Also you may be able to buy lighter tent stakes and if the weather permitted, leave the rain fly at home for lighter weight. But then you lose the vestibule storage. The tent stakes are adequate and will do the job. I’ve never seen a stake yet no matter how durable they advertise that you can pound through a rock without bending or breaking. Set up was a breeze and another reason I shopped for a tent with the clip over pole attachment. My last few tents had the sleeves you had to thread the poles through and they always hang up. Imagine struggling with that as the rain begins to fall. I shopped long and hard sifting through the top brands and features, and I think I made the right choice. Can’t wait to try it out for real.

Good tent for the money
I bought this tent last Christmas for my daughter, She uses it when camping with the Venturing Scouts (part of the BSA). She enjoys the tent greatly. From torrential rain to light snow it has held up greatly. She and I would recommend this tent highly.

Good cold weather tent but has design flaw
Camped out three times in this tent. Heavy rain one night and steady drizzle second night, but absolutely no leaks. Heavy winds the first night, possibly gusting to 40mph but tent was stable and held up well. Has mesh area in both doors and small football-shaped mesh in both ends plus a small mesh area in the ceiling but overall this tent has a minimal amount of air flow and practically none when the rain fly is on. There are two small vents in the rainfly near the peak, but condensation was never an issue. Inside walls were always dry. This makes it a great option for cold weather camping which is why I bought it. Definitely not a good choice for hot summer camping, but a pretty good choice for spring, fall and even a bit of winter camping. On a hot, rainy summer night though, you are gonna be miserable. Has two doors with 2 fairly roomy vestibules for easy access and ample storage for boots and packs. Just a bit heavy for hiking, but I’m usually on a bike so the weight is manageable. Zippers are of good quality and function smoothly on the tent doors and the rainfly. Very easy to set up even for one person in the dark. One minor complaint is they should have added zippered covers on the two football shaped mesh areas to add the option of better privacy and heat retention. Overall this has been a solid fit for me and I recommend it except for hot weather camping.UPDATE: Tent has been holding up well even in heavy winds and serious rain, BUT, camped in temperature slightly below freezing (29 deg F) and significant condensation built up on inside of rainfly. This is usually not a problem except for the football shaped windows on each end of the tent. As stated before these mesh covered openings do not have zippered covers and as a result, the condensation drips off the outer rainfly and onto these mesh areas and ends up dripping inside the tent. Woke up with the bottom of my sleeping bag soaked. This is a good tent overall, but the design of the football-shaped windows is a serious design flaw. They need to get rid of these windows or better yet, add zippered covers over them to keep the dripping condensation out. If they would do that I would give this tent five star, but as is, I do not recommend this tent and can only give 2 stars. I have taped plastic covers over the end mesh windows and that has solved the dripping problem for now. Should not have to do this kind of modification to stay dry.
