Or do they? In this book, John Block describes his illustrious ten-year career in the NBA and the influencing factors on his life before and after professional basketball. And, God was the difference.His towering size, (6’9” at pro level) and athletic skills provided an opportunity to reach far beyond his Glendale, California roots on good will and faith-based missions into the heart of inner-city Harlem as well as countries like Benin, West Africa.The associations and friendships he made along the way are chronicled in this praiseworthy biography include many of basketball’s greats, their coaches, religious leaders, and government heads of state.Block’s competitive instincts are obvious but his humanity, empathy, and unwavering faith in God are qualities the world needs more of.
