Customers say
Customers find this sauté pan to be top-notch cookware that’s perfect for family cooking with lots of room, and one customer mentions it’s large enough to cook 4 burgers. They appreciate its functionality, ease of cleaning, and value for money. The heat distribution receives mixed feedback – while it heats up quickly, the handle gets very hot during cooking. The pan’s weight is also mixed, with customers noting it’s quite heavy.

Great pan, perfect size
I needed this pan. I bought the stainless set, but the pan that came with it is 3qt, and that just isn’t quite big enough for some of the recipes I want to cook. This one fits everything I want, with room to spare. I have seen the other reviews, and have to say, there is a bit of a learning curve to cooking with stainless, but once you “get it”, you’ll only use it (or your cast iron), ever again. First, you want MEDIUM heat, not low, nor high. Second, give the pan time to come up to temp – say, five minute or so. And learn the “skitter test”. Drop a few droplets of water in the pan and they “skitter” over the surface, not just sizzle. And a little oil, it doesn’t take a lot. I have no problem with stuff sticking, occasionally some stuff does, but not a lot, and it’s never major. One thing people people with stainless need to learn, “Barkeepers Friend” is also YOUR friend. It takes off any stains, scuffs, marks, etc. It is also recommended by most stainless manufacturers. Once you have all this down, cooking with these is a breeze. Even heating (if you haven’t warped your pan), non stick pans are cooking up great meals in your kitchen!

Good quality safe pan
Great quality, safe cooking pan. We replaced the silicone ones we had with stainless steel and this one works great. Easy to clean and cook with. Good quality from what we could tell too.

Top notch cookware!
There are some that are more expensive, but not better.Nice heavy bottom gives outstanding heat distribution. The glass lid is made with thick, durable glass.Excellent piece of stainless steel cookware!Iâd buy again, no question.

Outstanding for the price point
Heat distribution is VERY good, long handle is very good, lid is a nice fit. The helper handle opposite the long handle is a little narrow if you have average or larger hands, but will still give you a good 3 finger grip.It heats quickly and browns evenly, even on a slightly too-small electric burner, and I love that it also works on my induction burner. This is a really great pan for the price point.

Love having glass cover.
Great pan and helps having a glass lid to see the food cooking.

Tired of dealing with non-stick
Replacing crappy non-stick pan. Tired of throwing out non stick sauté pans due to the surfaces failing/peeling. This will last forever even with metal utensils.

Third pan was received and it has the least issues of the three. Some minor defects on the bottom of the pan (cooking surface) but this time they do not interfere with use. Still recommend looking at different options to avoid hassle.—Currently awaiting my third pan and will update when received. I’d recommend looking at the All-Clad D3 line instead.First pan had a rough, unfinished lip. It was sharp, and could catch food/utensils or cut you during use.Second pan has metal bumps/burrs on the cooking surface, which could catch food and damage utensils (lip was fine on this sample).

Essentially steam from what you are cooking slips through the metal ring that surrounds the glass lid which then bubbles out through the other side where the weld of the metal ring is; there are two pieces in crescent moon shape welded together to form a ring. Going to contact Calphalon directly to see if they can rectify this problem in any way.
