Customers say
Customers find the rainfly keeps the roof and inside dry, is easy to snap-on and anchor, and provides good ventilation for sultry nights. Moreover, they consider it a must-have for Coleman tents and worth the purchase price. However, the fit receives mixed feedback, with some finding it perfect while others say it’s a little big. Additionally, durability is also mixed, with some saying it held up well in storms while others report it ripping during setup.

Easy set up
The easiest tent Iâve ever set up. Fits two people very comfortably I would recommend highly.

Worked perfectly
Wasnt able to try it in the rain, but I can say it was money worth spent already, in the sunny mornings it helped keep the tent dim enough I could sleep longer, in the cold nights it helped keep the heat of my lantern in. And it was easy to put on/take off my tent alone.

Bought 6 person tent fly for 4 person tent – works just fine
So, this amazing tent comes with no rainfly, ok, I had to buy it separately. This is a flat top tent, who wouldn’t buy a rainfly? Without it, the tent could potentially leak. All of the 4 person tent rainflies that would fit the Coleman instant tent were sold, so I bought the one for the six person tent and it fits just fine because the design of the tent rainfly is perfect, it snaps to the poles and also has ties downs. I can set this tent up in one minute, take it down and store it in the bag in two minutes. Oh, and people, WATERPROOF YOUR TENT! Every year if needed. I used Scotchguard for tents (two cans needed), but there are many products out there. When you spray your hose on the rainfly and your tent, the water should bead, see pictures. People who wrote that this tent leaks (duh, it is made of fabric)… you have to be smart and prepared. You will need a separate tarp underneath (tuck in all the edges under your tent) and buy tent poles and tie this tent down, it is very light weight. Enjoy!

Ez up puffy down. Quick.
I have used this for over a year now. Setup could not be easier. I am disappointed it did not come with the rainfly as no one should own it without it. It is heavy but I car camp so getting it there is not an issue. The bag it comes in is large and can be reused easily unlike most that dont fit unless factory packed. I like that it has clips by the handles of the bag. These come in handy when attaching the rainfly to it for storage and when in a hurry and I dont want to zip the bag closed. I found when taking it down that it is best to leave two windows opposite eachother unzipped. This prevents the marshmallow effect where the tent puffs out and is hard to fold up. You also need to watch your fingers as I have pinched mine a few times now.My first trip I set this up in the dark alone in under 5 min. The rainfly is tricky with one person which is why it took so long.I removed 1 star because the storage bag did rip on one end over the last year. It is still usefull but should not have ripped at the seam. I have also had some trouble with the door zippers since day 1. No matter how i stake it down the zipper sticks in 2 places one on the bottom and another near the turn on the door. I reached a point where I rarely open it past these points now.I have camped in rain wind snow and nice days. The worst wind was about 40ish mph with higher gusts. I did not sleep well but the tent held up. I staked the tent down and tied down the rainfly and tent as you are supossed to. Tent made it fine. The rainfly had a tendancy to disconnect the clips and flap around a lot on the corner after a big gust. It still held on due to the stakes but was annying blowing around at the end. It is important to note that this does not risk getting the tent wet but it does mean you have something loose flapping around.I wish there was some cover when you exit the door in the rain but I was willing to sacrifice that for the ability to stand up inside at more than one point and ease of setup. I now bring an umbrella so i can get out without too much rain getting in. When the zipper sticks this is an issue with 1 hand.I managed to lose the ties to secure the tent and now use sleeping bag clips which I find much easier to use than the ties it came with. The easy setup means i actually come home and set it up to dry out instead of just laying it out. I think this has helped to make it last.Good product. A few minor things I would change but more that I would not. I will replace with a similar one if I ever need to.

Nice rain fly! The tentâ¦. Not so much
Kept the roof dry but the tent walls still leaked. I had to buy scotchguard for the tent walls. Iâm usually very happy with Coleman products and the rain fly worked 100% but the instatent if I could review the tent Iâd give it a 3 based on leaks alone.

A great buy for a larger family of weekend warriors
I purchased this for my family of 5. You can actually fit at least 6 adult sized people (normal height/build) with no issues. Anything more than that and there is no space for anything else.I also purchased the rain fly because it only rains on weekends here in AZ.Pros:Super easy to setup, takes about 1-2 mins max + time to hammer down stakesSpaciousLots of windows for circulationThe bag is actually big enough to somewhat easily pack the tent back into after use! You have to tear away a “break away” expansion to make the bag big enough. You will see what I mean when you see the bag.Quick takedownGreat rain resistance (nothing is rain proof so if you have enough rain long enough it will probably leak)Good floor material, very thick.Cons:Heavy (35lbs?) so don’t plan on hiking this thing aroundYou have to use 2 hands to get the zipper open/closed because the wall just isn’t tight enough and the zipper will get caught in the zipper flap cover.I would highly recommend this to the weekend warrior types.

I tried it out for the fitting one day but I havent tested it on a camping trip yet. I just had to have it because last year I had a tarp and it blocked the vent and kept the tent wet inside and we couldn’t breath, it was awkward with too many cords everywhere. But I just know this is what it takes to enjoy the tent. I have much confidence in Coleman Products as I have been buying coleman for years. It fits perfectly, no tripping on cords or bloking airvents. By the way the instant tent is really great and it literally takes 1 minute to set up. There are cool videos on youtube.
