Skip the pricey ones and buy these!
I LOVE THESE! I bought this set for my two year old. He’s pretty advanced and he’s already learning how to read but a lot of learning tools for reading require more coordination than a 2 year old has. These couldn’t be any simpler or more perfect for him, and the words you can create and sound out are plentiful. I believe there are 80 combinations. I spent days trying to decide whether to buy this set or the more expensive ones you’ll find on here (TWICE the cost). I thought surely the price difference indicated an inferior product, but no. These are superb quality. Some other reviewers mentioned rough wood, or a disappointing font…. this definitely was not the case for us. The blocks are really smooth, and the letters are very standard and clear lowercase. I think they are fantastic! Save yourself some $$ and buy this set!Edited to add: After having these for a little while it does seem that the font is sometimes challenging for my son. Since the font adds tails on many letters he gets them confused. The lowercase a for instance, he mistakes as a q, and the lower case i looks like a lower case j to him… so this has been a tad confusing when he’s trying to sound out words with them. I wish there was a standard blockier font so all of his resources were consistent, but…. we can’t have everything! I still think these are really great and we’ll work through the confusion!

Excellent choice!
Love these for my two children who are learning to read words!!! My first grader wasn’t quite getting it with sentences and flash cards works for letters but not words… I got these blocks and he loved them so much, he read could read all of them in two days!! A great find!

Great for the preschooler or early learner in your life.
My 4 year old daughter loves this set! From helping her with her lowercase letter recognition to learning some basic words, this set is a keeper! Her teachers have even commented on how much better she is doing at school. This set is also giving her another tool to help teach her the proper way to write each letter. The blocks are sturdy and well made. I have no doubt that they will survive Harper and be in great condition for my son, Jameson, to use.

Great idea, terrible font.
I had been wishing I had something like this for my 5 year old to learn CVC words and was very excited about this. It is a great idea and the quality is nice, but the font they used was a very bad choice. Itâs lowercase which isnât a big deal, but they are italics and for a beginner, very difficult for them to read the letters. Wish it was a simple font.

Granddaughter Loves This!
I bought this for my granddaughter, who is four, because she’s learning to write and sound out her letters. Now she can make the next jump and start reading simple words. This educational toy is the right size for her little hands, and she really enjoys trying to find whatever letter or word she’s working on. Today she discovered LEG and was able to see it, say it, spell it, and relate it to her own leg.

Great concept and no plastic
Iâve increasingly looked for more sustainable gifts for children. This one is great! It teaches words without having to keep track of index cards and it shows how changing one letter can create an entirely different word. I recommend

Great Learning to Read Tool
Great product for teaching children to read. Attentive parents & parents of children younger than three (the product states for ages 3 plus) willSupervise usage which is a great idea anyway to draw attention to the words the letters spell. It can teach a child phonetically and regardless will at least position a child through play to have a base of understanding to build upon for reading. At best, children will learn to read some if not all of these words; especially, if itâs all play and not pressured!

Blocks
The actual product was nice, very cute and smooth turning. But the packaging was a disaster, literally was in a plastic bag stapled together. Was supposed to be a gift and thought it’d come in the box in the picture but didn’t.
