Super neat set that works WITH that “L” brand but is not made by that brand
I was a bit skeptical about this Pirate ship when my wife ordered it as its not name brand, but I was really impressed. The kit has just as much detail as a name brand set, and comes with an ocean base with a bonus. When complete, this set has a crank on the side that you can turn and the boat will bob in the water as if its crashing through the ocean waves. Our son, 12yr, had no issues putting this set together with the included instructions. We haven’t tried to connect it to anything from the name brand mega company blocks but you can tell they are in fact compatible. Our son enjoyed attaching his “L” brand motor set to the kit to automate the bobbing action which was a lot of fun.I am marking down just 1 star for just some minor gripes. From a distance, it’s no doubt this is one of those plastic brick sets, upon closer inspection you can tell something is…. different. Again, the set looks great but you can tell there isn’t as much brick-tion-eering that went into this design. There are bricks around the edge of the base that just blast off every time you cough near this thing. I’ll move it slightly, the bricks will fall off, my son gives me one of his patented “Siggggggghhhhhh” and has to come over and fix it. Attached picture shows how the bricks look just like the big brand, but some of the design choices are “meh”. Big positive: there were a few extra bricks as you would expect with the name brand version AND this set wasn’t missing anything necessary to complete the build.At the end of the day, this set was much less expensive than the name brand and my son had just as much fun building this as he does the other guys product. I would certainly purchase more items from this company/seller.

It turned out so cute. I had to glue down some of the pieces so the gears would stay tight, which allows for the ship and crocodile to move. I also added a little pirate. I would buy from this company again.

My son had a lot of fun putting this together. Good value for the price. However two pieces were broken so the waves donât move like they should.

If you’ve made it far enough to this review, that means you’ve already seen the price.youve seen the piece count, now you just want to know if it’s a rip off, if it’s just going to fall apart like the worst lego knockoffs youve built before, because for the price this has to be terrible quality.Nope, pretty decent stuff. And for the price, this is a no brainer.Some parts do feel off though,the gear mechanism seems to go beyond the main mechanic of the model, and it seems like it was originally planned to have more mechanics, but it just didnt work, and maybe they just left in the extra gears? The rods aren’t even capped off on one end.It’s a small complaint, and just like every other non lego, the pieces don’t hold together as well as lego, but for non lego, the pieces are actually pretty good quality.Look at the price. Look at the piece count. You’ve made it to the end of this review. Why haven’t you bought it yet?
