Might work…
This is not a typical ‘gooseneck’. It was very hard to uncoil and shape as needed. It came with no directions but it was relatively easy to figure out what needs to be turned to adjust both the table clamp and the phone clamp. The clamps themselves are pretty good. The table clamp is lined so it won’t scratch or slip easily. The phone clamp (also lined to help keep phone from scratching/slipping) grips my phone in it’s case and I wasn’t concerned about it slipping out. However, once I had everything attached on the table next to me and I attached the phone, the arm sank like a stone. It was so stiff when I was trying to uncoil and position it but the weight of a normal recent model Samsung smartphone in a case, pulled it right down to the floor (the clamp was still attached to the table, but the arm sank). The clamp actually makes a nice stand for the phone so it’s not a total loss for me at all. Maybe a small phone would work as they picture it.

As described.
This works great. The mount is sturdy and very adjustable and the holder is easy to use and works great with small and large phones. The neck is very stiff and hard to bend so it stays put. This review is for the product listed as, âGooseneck Cell Phone Holder-Lazy Bracket 39inch Flexible Long Arm, Upgraded Clamp, 360 Adjustable Overhead Mobile Phone Mount Stand for Bed, Desk, Headboard Bedside, 4-7â Cellphone, by Bysimilai.”

Works, but not sturdy
The good: This thing works. The gooseneck can be bent in various shapes to hold a phone in whatever position you want. Both clamps are great. Cellphone clamp holds securely while not blocking access to the back of the phone. The base clamp is sturdy, padded to avoid marring, and can work on various surfaces from very thin to 2.5″. This could easily clamp on a door or even a railing. The so-so: While the gooseneck is very flexible, it is not strong enough to be fully extended horizontally and still support the weight of a cell phone. This limits this products range, but it is still quite useful and nice for many applications.

Not Impressed with its Strength
The way this looks in the vendor description, you’d think you could extend it out full length and still hold up a cell phone…But sheer PHYSICS disagrees… Cell Phones these days are HEAVY instruments… and if you put one 24-30″ out there on that “fulcrum” of the end of this length… it’s simply going to DROOP and FALL all the way to the bed or shelf, or whatever it’s over!I very much doubted its ability, but decided to withhold my judgment and was willing to give the manufacturers benefit of the doubt, and see for myself if it really could hold up a phone… Well, I’m sorry to say I was very much correct in my initial impression that THERE IS NO WAY this will ever hold up a phone, unless it’s pretty much straight up and down, with the weight of the phone pressing DOWN on the vertical ROD EXTENSION itself… as a HORIZONTAL rod, this hold up the weight of an EMPTY PHONE CASE, but never a PHONE!(maybe that’s how the mfr’s promotional materials were made? with an empty phone case?)Anyway… for sure… don’t expect this to be successful at holding anything more than an ounce or two… maybe 30-40 grams!!!Fail!

Weak gooseneck, does not hold position
I wanted to use this gooseneck phone holder as part of my cozy setup for reading in bed. But the gooseneck is so weak, it canât support my phone. As soon as I put my phone in the clamp, it sank right to the bed instead of staying suspended in the air.I was surprised, because the gooseneck comes in a very stiff spiral. I had a heck of a time uncoiling it so that I could position it. So I thought it would hold my phone. But nope. I had to support the phone holder with a pillow to keep it in the desired position. The plastic nut on the back of the phone clamp is very hard to tighten and loosen, too. Overall, Iâm disappointed in this phone holder.

Long-Armed Helper with Some Quirks
This phone holder has been great for hands-free reading while I’m in bed or crafting at my desk, though it does require some patience to find the sweet spot for heavier phones. The clamp grip is impressively strong and hasn’t left any marks on my furniture, which I really appreciate. While the 39-inch reach lets me position my phone exactly where I need it, I’ve learned to adjust the gooseneck to compensate for gravity – it tends to slowly droop when extended straight out. For the price point, it’s a decent option if you’re willing to work with its limitations and take time to position it properly.
