WOWZA! This non-stick surface really WORKS!!
We’re big egg eaters in my family – we just about have some form of egg every day – and in doing that much egg cooking we have become ” frying pan connoisseurs”! We buy specific pans JUST for cooking eggs and have become quite particular as MANY pans do not release eggs very well – we’re so particular that after one use those ones immediate go into the donation bin. As we are ready for a new egg pan, I thought I give this imarku 8″ frying pan a try. (Please note the size – 8″ is a perfect breakfast size for the 2 of us but you might want something larger.)First impressions:1. Right out of the box I was impressed. This little pan feels solid and has a bit of “heft” to it – which I love! The manufacture states the pan is “lightweight”; however, I need to share that for its size that is not a description I would use… but please note that it’s a comfortable feeling weight and not overly heavy or burdensome when cooking. It has the feel of “quality” if you know what I mean. The body is black, looking somewhat like cast iron although its construction is an aluminum core and stainless-steel.2. The handle is shiny stainless-steel and includes a hanging slot at the end for those who store their pans on a pan rack.3. The packaging was AMAZING! Absolutely NO PLASTIC, NO STYROFOAM – just cleverly used recyclable cardboard forms and pressed paper. EVERY manufacture should try to package this way!4. The surface of the pan (inside and outside) is unusual – it’s not flat but rather has an uneven pattern of small undulations – almost looks like the surface of a pond when the wind blows on it. It also has a nonstick coating.5. Turning it over, one can see the stainless-steel induction base.Manufacturer specs indicate the pan and handle are oven safe to approx. 450 degrees Fahrenheit (I have not tested that yet), as well as dishwasher safe – albeit that’s a feature I prefer not to leverage in order to optimize the lifetime of the pan, particularly it’s frying surface. The egg frying test:All I can say here is WOWZA! Cracked 3 eggs into the pan with a little butter (3 is probably it’s capacity for egg frying) – and as side 1 began to cook you could tell the way the edges looked that the pan had a superior nonstick surface. Then did the “pan wiggling test” – picking up the handle and shaking the eggs proved it! If I were a professional chef I could probably have done the “pancake flip” on them. Nice and “slide-y” – and a dream to quickly and easily flip over with a spatula.Toasted bread and cheese test:Hubby prefers a “breakfast sandwich” and the pan made quick work on pan frying a couple pieces of bread as well as a precooked/ frozen sausage patty. Shredded cheese was added at the end, and I must say the situation felt like a tv commercial – I wiped the pan with a paper towel and NOTHING stuck.Hand washing:A quick swipe of a soapy sponge cleaned the pan right up in just a few seconds. I did notice that once the pan was dry the inner surface was somewhat less shiny than before cooking – but that’s just an observation. If over time I notice the nonstick surface no longer working as well or degrading I will try to remember to come back and edit my post with an update and timeline. However, just so you are aware, there is a 12-month warranty on the pan for any defects – which my assumption would include operational failure on the surface. Plenty of time to put the pan to good use.Net:The pan may seem a bit pricier than some, but the superb function seals the deal – it’s well worth it.You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED with this purchase!

Heavy stone-look pan with textured surface inside and outside
This pan is small but heavy, and it won’t tip backward on the burner like lightweight nonstick pans. The surface is textured and it looks like slate or another stone surface. It looks great on a pot rack or even out on the stovetop if you have a small kitchen and keep your pan out. Because of the texture I used a flexible spatula to cook in it if it’s eggs or something that will get into the ridges. I didn’t want to risk scratching the surface with a metal utensil and a wooden spoon didn’t get into the nooks and crannies. For dry toasting spices this pan is amazing because the small spices can fit in the ridges and get toasted on more than one side at a time. This would be a good gift for a housewarming or engagement or wedding, especially paired with a silicone spatula.

Compact, good quality pan
I was looking for a small pan, and this one is exactly that, compact, thick, well-balanced, and the non-stick textured surface really works. What I like:Size: I love that I no longer have to heat a big pan just to cook a single egg. This one heats up quickly, and with just a bit of oil, my egg cooks perfectly. It also retains heat well thanks to its thickness. Hopefully it will hold well over timeEasy to clean: Cleanup is easy, a quick rinse, and it’s dry and ready to go. Water practically rolls off leaving the surface dry. I’m not sure what happens when something gets burned, as it happens a lot to me lol. I will update in case I get disappointed.Handle: The handle is thick, sturdy, and very comfortable to hold.Something to consider:It’s not deep enough to be an all-purpose pan, but it’s perfect for eggs or sauces. For the price, it’s a bit disappointing that it doesn’t come with a lid. I don’t have one this size, so I’ll need to find a workaround.Final thoughts:If you want to add a small, well-made pan with a professional feel to your kitchen, this is a great pick!

Very nice cooking pan!
I was surprised when I received this pan! It has a good weight to it. The handle is riveted to the pan with nice large rivets. The texture of the nonstick surface is best described as a lava like finish. The base of the pan is metal, as a magnet can stick to it so in can be used with an inductive cooking unit. This is the perfect size for cooking small items or omelet. Would like to get a larger version of this pan.
