What is Aware Technology? Can it be turned on/off?
Aware is a level-dependent technology that uses omni-directional microphones to allow safe sounds to actively pass through the product while blocking harmful noise. Aware volume can be turned up, down, or off from the control module.
Can you use Bluetooth while using Aware? Do you have to use Bluetooth to be protected?
You can use both Bluetooth and Aware at the same time. Heat activated polyurethane foam ear tips block 26 dB of noise so your hearing is always protected, even if you are not connected to Bluetooth.
How do I get the best fit from the foam earplugs?
Properly inserting your eartips provides better noise reduction and superior sound quality: Compress the foam eartip for 5 sec, pull up on your ear to open your ear canal, insert the plug into your ear and hold for 15 sec while the foam expands.
Are the silicone eartips the same for hearing protection?
The eartips that come with ISOtunes earbuds have been tested for a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR). The PRO Aware 2.0 has a NRR of 26 dB while using the foam eartips or a NRR of 25 dB while using the triple flange silicone eartips.
Can I use these at work?
PRO Aware 2.0 is an OSHA compliant hearing protector with an ANSI-Certified NRR of 26 dB and they are Bluetooth enabled for phone calls and radio communication. Please abide by the rules established by your place of employment.

These do work!
I didnât have high expectations but these are great. I wore them today at a rifle match with an overhang. The normal sound amplification was decent. . It blocked out the nasty blasts from muzzle breaks and sbrâs up close while being an rso. That is exactly what I wanted! They seem cheesy when you open them but, they really work. I will be buying my wife a set to use while shooting rifle since regular electronic ear muffs suck with your head on a rifle stock. Canât wait to try them at an indoor range. I donât think Iâll be disappointed with how they preformed today.

Nice features… execution isn’t quite there, though
As someone who suffers from tinnitus due to past long-term exposure to loud sounds, I now work hard to help protect my hearing. These earbuds assist me with that – providing OSHA-certified noise reduction – while also allowing me to listen to music AND staying aware of my surroundings when needed.I have primarily used these in my home workshop, where they do a great job of protecting my ears from grinding and cutting metal as well as while working with wood using my table saw or router. I like that they pair seamlessly with my Android phone and let me stream music or a podcast while I’m working. I also like that I can use the same earbuds in a ‘passthrough’ mode that allows me to carry on a conversation when I’m working with a friend or family member on a project in the workshop… while still keeping the same OSHA-certified hearing protection. It’s also nice to be able to adjust how loud I want that passthrough sound to be. I can see this passthrough feature also being helpful in some of my past work environments where it’s important to remain aware of heavy equipment moving around you while still protecting your hearing.Unfortunately, there are some aspects of these earbuds that I find troublesome. The first, and perhaps most challenging, is that the ‘over-the-ear’ part of the earbuds doesn’t play well with either eyeglasses or safety glasses. There also isn’t any provision for changing the earhook out for another attachment method, which leaves them causing discomfort after just an hour or so of wear. The second issue is that the foam seals expand far too quickly, making it difficult to get a proper seal in the ear canal. If the foam expanded at a slightly slower rate (much like a traditional earplug) it would ensure the earbud could be fully inserted and ensure a good seal – very critical to ensure the NRR is being reached. As it is, I’ve found the flanged silicone tips do work to provide a good seal, but they’re nowhere near as comfortable to wear for more than a couple of hours at a time. So, overall, I like these earbuds and will continue to use them… and hopefully this feedback can help further refine future models, as they really fill an important niche (in my opinion).

I was super skeptical
I was super skeptical.I’ve use some ear muf style ear protection so far, and it does help with the sound, but it started hurting my jar on top of being hot and hard to have safety glasses on…so I looked for an alternative.Holy crap, these isotunes are expensive! But they work! They don’t kill the noise, but they cut out everything that’s loud, which means any noise is comfortable. It will kill extra loud noises. On top the aware feature seems pretty neat in a larger work environment, and is adjustable. It comes with several different ear pieces to try.Battery seems reasonable.I’ve now worn this for multiple 3+ hour sessions and completely forgot I was wearing them…they don’t get in the way of anything, and once they are in your ear, you don’t have to do anything else. Sound quality also seems very good.

Very good, but uncomfortable for me
I think this is very specific to me, because I do have trouble with most earbuds, but I find these uncomfortable out of the box. I don’t love the foam tips. Those don’t last very long, and they push wax into your ear. I’ll probably try to set up some sort of custom molded earplug thing. For most people, this will probably be excellent. Especially if you can use the rubber earplug tips. The usability is quite good. When there’s a proper seal, you get a nice level of hearing protection, while amplifying sounds you want. It makes things quite clear. If they were more comfortable, I’d probably use them all the time, because they totally make the world clearer. The controls are intuitive and easy to remember. You can play sound from your phone into these as well. The battery life isn’t huge, but will get you through a working day. I’d really like a couple more hours to make it through lunch and a charging case though. It is pricey, but for people who are looking for something like this (this is really a work device, for those of us who work in loud environments), it’s worth the price, I’d say. It’s a quality device, by my testing so far.

Durable and Safe Earbuds for Work and Outdoor Use
These earbuds are perfect for staying aware of your surroundings while still enjoying high-quality audio. The Aware Technology is a standout feature, allowing you to hear conversations and ambient noise while keeping harmful sounds below 85 decibels. The 26 dB noise reduction rating ensures solid protection in loud environments, making them great for job sites or outdoor work. The Bluetooth 5.4 connection is reliable, and the ability to pair with two devices is a useful feature. The earbuds also have a strong magnetic design, so they stay secure around your neck when not in use.Durability is another major highlightâthese earbuds are built to withstand tough conditions. They meet military drop-test standards, are IP67-rated for water and dust resistance, and have reinforced cables that hold up well to daily wear and tear. The battery life is excellent, lasting up to 24 hours in Aware mode or 16 hours with Bluetooth. The fast-charge feature is convenient, giving two hours of playtime from just a 15-minute charge. The only small drawback is that the fit may take some adjustment for comfort, but overall, they are a great choice for anyone needing tough, long-lasting earbuds with safety
