Great quality sleeping bag
This is a great quality sleeping bag. One thing I didnât want was a cheap sleeping bag that would fall apart after one use. I didnât find any lose threads or tears in my bag. Itâs a great packable size that will fit in my camping storage bin when not in use. I am 5â5â and the womanâs size fit me perfectly with room to spare. I live in California and plan to use this in the spring and summer so I canât speak to the waterproofness but it definitely keeps me warm. The zippers are great quality but one thing I did notice is it would catch on the sleeping bag fabric if I tried to zip it too fast. The interior pocket is smaller than anticipated and barely fits my iPhone 16 pro. If you are claustrophobic I would avoid this sleeping bag as mummy style sleeping bags are a little restrictive. In the warmer nights I plan on unzipping it all the way and using it as a blanket which works nicely. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and will continue using this sleeping bag.

Great bag for the price. Synthetic > Down. Light weight is for pussies
Embarking on my outdoor adventures, I recently welcomed the Kelty Cosmic Synthetic Fill 20 Degree Backpacking Sleeping Bag into my gear repertoire, and it swiftly became a trusted companion under the open sky.The synthetic fill emerged as a hero in unpredictable weather conditions, showcasing its unparalleled insulation even in damp environments. This feature proved invaluable during a night fraught with unexpected rain showers, ensuring that I remained comfortably warm throughout the entirety of my slumber. The sleeping bag’s 20-degree rating lived up to its promise, enveloping me in a cocoon of warmth during chilly nights. The mummy shape, expertly designed to retain body heat, combined with the adjustable hood, provided an extra layer of coziness when temperatures dipped. Smooth-operating zippers and an effective draft collar sealed the deal in keeping the cold at bay.Durability proved to be a defining trait of the Kelty Cosmic, with its ripstop nylon shell resiliently standing guard against abrasion, contributing to an extended lifespan. The inclusion of a compression sack further emphasized its backpacker-friendly design, allowing for easy packing and optimizing precious space.A standout feature was the dual-slider zipper, offering the flexibility to ventilate during warmer nights without sacrificing comfort. The interior lining, soft against the skin, enhanced the overall sleeping experience, adding a touch of luxury to my outdoor retreats. While the Kelty Cosmic shines in numerous aspects, it’s fair to note that, like most mummy bags, it may feel a tad restrictive for those who relish more room to move. However, this design choice plays a pivotal role in the bag’s efficiency in retaining heat, ultimately enhancing its performance in colder climates. In summary, the Kelty Cosmic Synthetic Fill 20 Degree Sleeping Bag stands as a reliable, warm, and durable companion for backpackers navigating diverse weather conditions. Initial quality looks excellent.
I received this sleeping bag today. It is the Kelty Cosmic Synthetic 20 F Long in the color Dark Shadow. I have included photos of the tags that were affixed to the bag and stuff sack and the orange one held on with a tether. Upon initial review (I have not had it out in the woods yet), it appears to be well made and very warm. Here’s what I found:Use Dimensions: 84 inches long? Yes; 32 inches wide at shoulder? Yes if you pull it gently, 31 inches if you don’t. Will it fit a big guy? I’m 6 foot 1 inches and 238 lbs and I fit just fine with room to spare at the bottom. Remember it’s a mummy bag so it’s going to be difficult to roll inside it if you are big and a side sleeper but the whole bag will roll easy enough.Packed Dimensions: I got it down to 14 inches by about 9.5 inches fairly easily. It will fit perfectly in my Osprey Atmos.Weight: The tag states 3.02 lbs. My luggage scale came in at 2.98 lbs without stuff sack. 3.16 lbs with stuff sack.Material: Shell is nylon. Lining is polyester – it’s smooth not grippy like fleece. The insulation fill (Cirroloft) is polyester. See tag photos.Zippers: It has a two way zipper on the right side of the bag, so you can get some air in, at about your knee not your feet. I’d estimate the zipper starts about 2 ft up from the bottom of the bag. See photo.Cinch: It’s on the left, so opposite the zipper. Seems to work just fine.Warmth: I haven’t used it out in the cold but just laying in it with the zipper all the way up I was roasting in about a minute. The draft tubes are in the right places and fairly wide so they look like they would work well to keep your heat in. I particularly like the one that’s at the top near your chest, this one will stop the warm air from coming out around your neck and head. The initial quality of this sleeping bag is excellent.
