Not as fragile as it seems
Upon oping the packaging, I noticed the glass was thin and the bowl is unexpectedly light. This makes it easier to move around when full, but a little concerning with durability. With several other reviews complaining about thin glass with none of them mentioning breakage, Iâm going to assume itâs a high enough quality glass to be a non-issue. At the time of writing this, I see 8 reviews complaining about fragility with no actual problems. Iâm not about to spike mine onto the ground to confirm my hypothesis, but clearly breakage isnât that much of an issue despite the minimal dimensions. I say itâs engineered well: minimal resources used to complete the task successfully. The design is clean but the wood base is odd. I thought it was to tie the set together with the included utensils, but those donât even match.Itâs a decent dish and seems to be up to the task. The problem Iâm having is with value. Simply not enough material nor detail to justify the asking price. At $20 this would easily be 5* in my eyes, or current price point with thicker glass and better utensils that match the base.

Nice for everyday use or hosting
This salad bowl is the perfect size for hosting small gatherings or family dinners. I love the utensils it comes with to toss/serve. Iâm not a huge fan of the base send anytime you pick up the bowl. The wooden part stays behind unless you remember to pick it up, which is a little annoying. Other than that I would highly recommend.

Itâsâ¦
Ugh, I was so excited for this. Sadly, itâs not as great as I was hoping. The bowl itself, the glass part, is great. Itâs a decent size and shape. It is a little thin, I would have preferred it to be thicker for protection against breaking, but if youâre careful with it and using it the way itâs supposed to be used I canât imagine youâll have much trouble with it. The base isnât secured to the glass bowl, and Iâm still trying to figure out how to feel about that. On the one hand it will make cleaning easier, but on the other hand trying to serve at the table will be weird if youâre passing it around to people. The color of the base is gorgeous. The spoon and fork though. Yikes. They arenât even close to the color of the base and they are nearly the same size as regular silverware. They arenât even big enough to rest inside the bowl-they are too short to rest on the side if you leave them in the bowl. The wood seems like decent quality and they are glazed well enough that they may withstand water from washing. I will try it and see how well it works but it may end up being a fruit bowl on the counter if itâs not great at serving salad.

Attractive Salad Bowl with some issues…
Overall a nice design. The strangest thing is that the “glass” is very thin and when you tap it with something, it sounds like plastic rather than glass. It is perfectly clear and a nice shape, so I’d almost prefer it was plastic so I didn’t worry about it breaking. As other people have mentioned, it is a little awkward to hand around because the base isn’t attached. The base is well made and attractive, but not very practical. In addition, the wooden spoon and fork tongs that come with it are hopelessly small. It is almost impossible to serve a decent amount of salad in one scoop. Fortunately we have lots of other tongs that work fine. They’d actually be better off not including them.I’m giving it four stars rather than three because it is very nice looking, and a good size. As with other reviewers, if the glass breaks or scratches I’ll come back and update.

So so pretty!!! Minimal, elegant, easy to clean. I wonder if the glass is strong, it seems thin.
So so pretty!!! Minimal, elegant, easy to clean. I wonder if the glass is strong, it seems thin. The salad tong set you get is pretty too, a little smaller than most salad tongs but work fine. I love how easy it was to clean the bowl. See, it just rests on top of the little wooden base (kind of like a trivet). Then you just wash it with other dishes. I have been a little gentle with this bowl though because I really want to be able to use it for a long time but it just doesn’t seem as thick nor strong of glass as many other bowls on the market. The first time we used it was at a dinner party for Valentines and it got compliment from the other women. It is really pretty and fine to sit on the table even with your other dishes.

Fragile handle with care
I’m torn regarding how I feel about this salad bowl. The glass is super thin, so much so I couldn’t tell if it was glass or some type of plastic. I went to wash it out of the box and once it was wet it became super slippery. I’m pretty careful about these sorts of things, but I’m worried about breaking this bowl. That being said, I was a little perplexed by the two pieces (wood base and glass bowl), but understand it for cleaning purposes. The wood utensils are a nice touch, but I have much better options, so those went straight into the utensil drawer. This salad bowl looks great and does the job. My only advice is to be very careful handling it. $32.99 might be a little high for this salad bowl, but it is definitely a nice looking addition to our dinner table.

Expected Better Quality
I have been wanting one of these salad bowls for awhile so I was excited to get this. However it was a bit of a disappointment. I feel it was comparable price to others that I was looking at, but this feels and looks cheaply made. There are imperfections in the glass. The salad tongs are smaller than expected and it is hard to get salad out with them. The bottom stand is not attached to the glass, which is good for cleaning but also makes the bowl super easy to slip off the stand. I don’t feel like it will hold up well and definitely would not use it for dinner parities as I was planning.
