Sound reducing, comfortable
These pink earplugs are okay. I have bought several similar to these on Amazon. What I like about these is the white case. This case is easy to open and close and the earplugs generally don’t fall out. I don’t like the little round clamshell type cases, those are difficult to open and fit the earplugs into them. These earplugs and the different ear tip sizes are all stuffed into this white case, which is fine. Usually there is a big box with all of this foam to present the different ear tip sizes, which is really unnecessary.I like this shape of earplug, because it can fit into either ear. There’s not a left side or right side, so inserting them in the dark is easy. They muffle noise pretty well. I find that I can wear a larger ear tip and push the earplug a bit deeper into my ear, and it blocks more sound. So play around with those ear tips and see if you can improve your results.

Lots of misleading claims
Most sellers make outrageous claims for hearing protectors, and reviewers give uneducated opinions. That’s dangerous. Hey folks, we’re talking about your hearing or your child’s hearing. Ask me about hearing loss, I know it too well!First off, these are not “Noise Cancelling”. Almost every seller makes that claim, but only electronic devices can produce Noise Cancelling. These, like all other silicon plugs, are Noise Reducing by creating a seal in the ear canal that blocks sound.I have used many hearing protection devices over the years and have a good working understanding. I have tested dozens of earplugs for Amazon, and these are among the most efficient. Presently I mostly use the 3M Peltor X5 earmuffs, independently tested and certified at NRR 31 dB. And I ALWAYS wear them properly fitted.”They have a noise reduction rating (SNR) of 28 dB … ?” Oh, yes and then some. I compared these DDXNL Earplugs to the Peltor X5 in actual use. These plugs perform almost as well as the Peltor’s. So, these plugs perform at about NRR 30 dB. That’s very good. Why go through all the hype and not just tell the truth? (SNR is the European system, NRR is the American which is more rigorous).But, “This selective frequency filtering ensures that you enjoy a quiet environment …” There is no selective filtering, just a silicone ear tip. All silicone earplugs rely on an ear tip/dome to form an airtight seal. I suppose that the quality of the material, it’s thickness and flexibility, and the ability of the user to grasp it and maneuver it makes the difference. It certainly is not some mumbo-jumbo filtering technologies like “sound absorbing ring” and noise reduction bracket”.To get the best seal, wash the opening to your ear canal and the rinse the plugs. A little moisture makes for a better seal. Make a rapping noise on a tabletop and remember the loudness. Lift the top of your ear while inserting the plug, turn and twist and lift and gently push until an airtight seal is formed. You can feel the suction. Then make the rapping noise and compare the loudness, adjusting until it is at its lowest level.To remove, lift the top of the ear and gently rotate the plug until the seal releases. Do not pull suddenly!So, folks, aside from the false claims, these are very good plugs, and the price is comparable. All things considered, 3 Stars.

Noise dampening not cancelling
These are made of a soft silicone which can be washed with water and used repeatedly. The earplugs are ergonomically designed, simply insert them and twist to ensure a tight fit so they don’t stick out of your ears. I don’t think these are noise cancelling but more noise reducing. They create a seal in the ear canal to help dampen sound but the sound is not completely gone. They do come with 3 different size ear tips to help get the best fit. They are pretty comfortable but no matter which tip I try they won’t stay in all night. Included is a small travel case that stores the ear plugs and the extra ear tips which is great for traveling. They work but they are not noise cancelling.

I can still hear noise while using them
