Disappointed – Hard as a Rock and Repairs Needed but made it work with a fix
UPDATE: BEWARE⦠while I am updating with a slightly raised rating, THIS MATTRESS IS EXTREMELY FIRM TO HARD. You need to know this and be ok with it before buying. Iâm being fair and raising the rating from my previous 2 stars, to 3 stars, because I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the seller that not all sofa beds arrive defective, and after I repaired the damage mentioned in my initial review below, it works well and seems solid now. Also, while the mattress is rock hard, and after putting some soft sheets on it, Iâm getting used to it. Iâve slept on it for 3 nights so far. I may be able to improve the comfort more with a mattress topper but not sure if that will effect getting the bed pushed back in the sofa.INITIAL REVIEW:If you like laying on a hard surface, then maybe you will like it⦠I donât believe the other reviews are legit because the Mattress that comes with this sleeper sofa is NOT SOFT⦠itâs VERY VERY HARD!Pros:It looks like the photos; itâs great for small spaces; the exterior looks great; the fabric seems durable; very easy to put together (no tools needed) the price is low. It functions well once I fixed the defect myself.Cons:Opened the box of the main section (of 3) and two screws dropped on the floor (bad sign); the side mechanism did not function because it wasnât screwed on properly on one side, so it was difficult to pull the bed out and put it back in; you can tell the factory tried to fix it but didnât do a good job; it took me an hour to fix it (fortunately Iâm very handy but it took time to figure out the problem); THE MATTRESS IS THE HARDEST MATTRESS IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN MY 61 years on earth; The sofa cushion is also very hard but not as hard as the mattress; overall it is definitely not comfortable at all; there are not any good options for finding a softer replacement mattress of this uniquely small width (cot size, smaller than twin).
