Ankr doesn’t make bad products
UPDATE: I realized there is an app. You can customize what taps and long press control for each earbud, and you can play with the levels of ANC. Wonderful addition to a wonderful product.I had been on the hunt for a while for good earbuds. Most of the main ones on the market hurt my ears after a while. I try the smallest tip but it’s just uncomfortable. Especially the ones with a stalk sticking out. Other brands were small ear specific, but a plastic seam irritated my ear where it sat. Unrelated to my earbud search, I was thinking how much I love my Ankr charger brick. I came to Amazon to confirm I bought it 8 years ago and it still works amazingly. Charges 2 phones at once in around 30 min or less. Takes overnight to charge but has never let me down. Always has extra juice, always gets me back full in no time. Anyone I share it with is impressed for the size and quality. So when i saw soundcore was made by Ankr, I was intrigued.I am not a person who works out a lot but the sweating I have done, they stayed in place. Usually if I smile or huff and puff the bud moves and I have to readjust. These stay still if they are clean. I got some hearing aid wipes and clean them from time to time, it helps.I think the sound quality is great but I’m not a music theory expert. I can hear bass and high notes clearly. The noise canceling is ok, but even with it off I can only hear my music unless it’s very low. One earbud at a time works great: I can still hear around me and the other stays charged. I haven’t had a bud die on me yet. They connect well to my android phone and turn off/on when removed from case. Now, as far as on-device controls. Do I know what I’m doing? No, of course not. I beleive 1 tap does nothing, long press changes between anc and not, hold for 10s….turns them off? Not sure. Typically I would accidentally press a button with other earbuds when I didn’t mean to. Doesn’t happen with these. If you want to control volume and ANC I think you can, I don’t think you can advance to next track or skip. I don’t really need on device tap features so that’s probably user error. 1 tap= nothing is my favorite. That way I don’t skip or pause with my ear accidentallyWhen I bought these, it was like $20. Freaking amazing quality for that price. It fits so snugly in my small ear and gives good sound. The active noise canceling seems to cancel noise when on or off so I can’t really tell when I’m listening to music but works great with nothing playing. The case is adorable???? I saw someone call it a lipstick case and that’s pretty close to how it feels. Slides open and close easy, pieces go in and come out fine, stands up better than a rounded or bulky case. Fits in my bag and is easy to find by touch. I really love these. I have had them 2 months and have needed to charge the case 0 times. I’ll report back if anything goes wrong but now I’m wondering if Ankr makes other stuff. Kitchen gadgets? Spouses?? I mean this quality would be welcome almost anywhere

Good Soundcore Product
I usually love the Soundcore brand of products. I am comparing a slightly different ear bud in Soundcore line. I am going from the p20i to the p30i.You have to get used to these so be patient as they fit very differently but comfortable. And they have good noise reduction. The sound is improved, crisp and clear because the ear buds fit better and feel more conformed to my ear. So they are great when you relax. The problem I encountered with this model is the Bluetooth capability inside my home does not function well. The sound kept dropping signal when I went to another room, even though they are in close proximity. Also the battery, however pretty good (hours), I was real spoiled with the 20i.

Better than any other brand at this price!
I have tried a good number of earbuds in this price range, and these are worlds better than JBL, Skullcandy, or similar competitors. One big issue I tend to have is that with other headphones, the earbuds are so heavy and the tip spine(?, the thing that the soft tip connects to) tends to be so large that they fall out of my tiny ear canals. These are slim and dare I say comfortable. Second, the sound quality is amazing for the price. Yes, these don’t have the most amazing bass, they aren’t super punchy, but they’re well balanced and work great for both music and spoken word like audiobooks. Third, as with all Anker products, the battery life can’t be beat! Even when not in use, my Skullcandy and JBL buds and cases would lose charge in about a week with no real use. These I have been able to leave them in my bag for a month without using or charging them, and they come out at 95% for the buds, and the case is barely touched. I can wear these to bed for 9 hours, then wake up and still have 40-60% the next morning. Fourth, the variable noise cancellation and multipoint is a no brainer. The noise cancellation is nearly perfect in the highest mode, but it also supports passive and passthrough as well as accounts for wind. All in all, for around $25 normally, and they go on sale for less than that often? Can’t be beat!

4th pair of ear buds since May 2024. Great Sound and design not so good on longevity
I purchased my 1st pair in May of 2024. The case is a nice size, earbuds fit nice and the bass and noise cancelling is awesome. Charging also is long I can go one night of music playing before it dies or 1 to 2 weeks of music sessions before charging. The case has about 6 or 7 charges to get you back to 100% and doesn’t keep a battery memory. Now my reason for 3 stars is about 3 to 4 months into my 1st pair, one and then both earbuds stop working. Doesn’t matter if you clean everything charge them 100% they just refuse to play music or turn on. I thought maybe it was a bad single item but this happened exactly same way for my 2nd & 3rd pair. I’m currently on my 4th pair of earbuds. I usually wait till they are on sale for $19.99. I cant handle dropping like $150 or more on earbuds at one time even if it lasted a long time but I can handle $19.99 every 4 months and the bass & noise cancelling is very good. If you are like me this doable and you know they consistently last 4 months with good sound.

This is just too good for the price and Iâm absolutely happy with this product. Owning a oppo enco w11 for the past 4 years, I wanted an upgrade and didnât want to spend much and found this. I got this for just 2k and it delivers much more than that. The in hand feel is quite premium and the lipstick design is super cool, just stands out from the crowd of same looking tws thatâs already out there. Smooth sliding action to reveal the buds and snaps back with a gentle push. The magnets for the case and the buds are strong, I shook them well and they just kept resisting. Bright led showcasing charging statuses on the case. There is a slight flex or movement with the case but not a big issue. The buds fit well in my ears, I use the default medium tips and the sit comfortably. The bean style shape of the buds help them go deep giving a good passive isolation, it also helps greatly with sound quality. Touch controls are very responsive and give a short sound to confirm the touch, quite handy.Feature set is amazing. I found anc just decent, filters outside noise to an ok level but is still audible to a small extent. Transparency mode was impressive, boosts ambient noise well and also relived some ear pressure for me. Mic performance was average but good for indoor usage, other person was able to listen me. Dual device pairing worked well, tried it with my laptop and iPhone, no issues. Overall connection was also stable, no drops encountered and connected quickly with the iPhone each time. Also noticed connection happens only after u take the buds out of the case, nothing happens when u just open the case, quite weird there. The sound quality impressed me. My previous enco w11 is more flat sounding/balanced, reading and viewing reviews about the a30i said the bass is extra, but I still gambled on that. No problem i still enjoy this, the bass is slightly emphasised but the other frequencies are still bright enough and overall very well sounding. Thereâs also many presets and full band equaliser in the app. I found the surround sound very lacking or just useless so turned it off, the default soundcore signature is just fine. Volume levels maybe a bit low for some, but turning on surround sound pushes a couple of levels up.Cannot really comment on battery life because havenât used that intensively yet. But while testing them used it slightly more than an hour and the buds dropped to 90%, I think they should be decent.Make use of the app to customise touch controls, battery levels, controlling ambient modes, sound presets and importantly receive firmware updates. Weird that the case battery is not visible anywhere. If u see a new connection named âsoundcore a30i leâ itâs just the app connecting via the phoneâs Bluetooth with the buds, donât worry.Overall very satisfied the with soundcore a30i. Highly recommended!
