Customers say
Customers find the sleeping pad well worth the price and appreciate its comfort, noting they slept well on it and didn’t feel the ground at all. The pad is very light and easy to carry, keeps cold out from underneath, and provides good insulation for the back. While some customers find it perfect in size, others mention it’s narrower than expected, and opinions about durability are mixed, with some reporting it falls apart after a month of use. The thickness receives negative feedback, with customers describing it as too thin for comfort.

HX:I’ve just gotten into camping about a year or two ago. I’ve tested this tent-camping on loose gravel/dirt and it was a great experience. I’m a pretty easy sleeper but I didn’t feel uncomfortable at night at all. It makes a huge difference from sleeping on the thin tent tarp and feeling every rock.PROS:It’s so light! This is a big plus when carrying it around. It is also very easy to pack up, making setting up and packing up very quick. I’ve enjoyed using it, as I said before. It does a good job of protecting your butt, back, or whatever part of you is lying on the ground from the irregular and sharp rocks you may be set up on. It definitely works better than a yoga mat or blanket. It’s long enough and a half for me. Granted, I’m about 5′ even, but I’ve had taller friends sleep on it and it works for them as well.CONS:It will definitely, definitely get scratched up if you use it outside a tent. This is not a problem so far because it hasn’t affected the utility of the product. There’s also no heat/thermal retaining function like some other higher-end products. This wasn’t a big deal for me personally because I haven’t been camping out in near freezing temperatures with this pad, but keep that in mind when you’re buying a product like this!Overall, good buy at this price point. My family has two!

Not wide enough for adult or big dudes
Good mat made for person under 200 not very wide

Sturdy, light, and cheap – what’s not to love?
It is what it is – firm, cheap, warm-ish. The 5/8″ version is pretty voluminous but with the straps you can stick it pretty much anywhere on the outside of your pack.

Useful but there are other ones of better quality
It is certainly useful as an insulation layer for an inflatable camping pad, or as a layer to sit on (cutting it into multiple sitting pads). An non-insulated inflatable pad + a close-cell pad is a better, cheaper, more flexible and more reliable solution than an expensive insulated inflatable pad (for example, if an inflatable pad breaks, you can still survive on a closed-cell pad). However, the quality of Stansport pad does not seem to be good, therefore 3 stars. The material is too soft and prone to cuts/dents. The price is too high for such low quality. I prefer a military style Rothco foam sleeping pad, which is made of much tougher foam. Another option is a cheaper Ozark Trail closed-cell pad, which is in-between this pad and Rothco in quality. My preferred and relatively inexpensive combination is a Big Agnes Divide 72×25 non-insulated pad + Rothco 71×24 closed-cell pad.

Cheap, Durable, Comfortable
I use this sleeping pad often on uneven terrain with nothing but a thin blanket between it and the ground. I have not had any problem with leaks or holes at all. It is, of course, an improvement over the ground and I prefer it to the typical foam camp pads. There are more expensive options out there and if you want something lighter and more compact you can go with those, but if you just want something cheap that works and you can beat up, this is it. I have written many term papers and essays while curled up on this by a creek with my tablet. You can add a little air to it yourself if you like it more firm or let it out while sitting on it and it will conform.A couple notes.I am pretty rough on my mattress, but I do make a little effort to not deliberately used it on sharp surfaces.Make sure you inflate it between uses or it can take a while to inflate.Try not to leave it in a hot car and if you must, then be sure to open the valve (otherwise it can get hole)

No padding at all
I put this on my concrete garage floor. I couldn’t tell the difference between just the floor and the floor with this pad. I returned it to Amazon.

Simple comfort I needed.
I opted for the thicker matt. I have waited too long to decide to get a camping matt. I thought an extra set of blankets would provide more comfort to something like this. Boy was I wrong. It was the comfort I didn’t know I needed. I like the fact that I don’t have to air it up. Unroll it and it’s ready for use. It was 70-90 degrees when I used it. So I haven’t been able to use it in cooler/colder temperatures to see how effective it is as an insulated buffer between the ground and myself.

very supportive
Perfect for a real camper… If you are ok with the ground and dirt than this is a luxury item. It helped keep me warm and was a soft pad for some weary bones after close to 20 miles a day hiking in harsh terrain. Boy was this perfect and it is puncture proof.

Doesn’t seems to be too sturdy. The thickness is just okay.

Este Pad es muy ligero y el de 5/8 tiene un grosor muy adecuado para suelos frÃos. Con un colchón inflable hace una muy buena combinación.

I guess this pad is meant for a child’s use since it’s only 50 inches long. I purchased it to use in making a pad for my lawn chairs to be used during the cooler temperatures in fall. A little padding on the seat and back helps keep me warm on those cool nights around the campfire.
