Customers say
Customers find the air mattress lightweight, comfortable, and quiet, with positive feedback about its functionality. The size receives mixed reviews – while it’s small enough to fit in a carry-on, some find it too narrow for stomach sleeping. The air retention and durability aspects are also mixed, with some finding it easy to inflate while others report it deflates quickly, and while some consider it dependable, others mention quality control issues. Several customers consider it overpriced.

Crinkle noise is better than expected. No problems here
This is my third mattress from Therma-Rest. I have a self inflating, a short summer lightweight summer time device and now this insulated full length mattress. This is the most comfortable. The shorter is fine on the AT if you are trying to save weight and don’t mind your legs resting on hard ground. The self-inflating is a little short on comfort for me.This mattress is thick, fairly wide and long, so it takes a lot of puffs to blow it up. So, I went with the recommended battery-operated pump. Very fast and saves a lot of work. And it helps deflate as well. This mattress sleeps very comfortable. I’m 5′-9″ and weigh about 180 lbs. It is narrow but with some experience you get used to the width. It’s fine. The thickness is great. No bottoming out for me even when sleeping on my side. You do need to keep a pretty firm pressure. At 5′-9″ I have no problems with length. From reading the reviews, there seems to be a split on how much noise is created by this mattress. Particularly when rolling over. Like anything in life people have different expectations. Also under some conditions, the noise can seem worse – say a very quiet, wind free night. For me, I was expecting worse. This did not seem like crackling, cellophane. There was a wrinkling sound no doubt. But – for me – it is easy to live with.During my hike, it was mid-August with 70-degree day temps and mid to high 30’s at night. So, the ground was nor frozen – probably in the 50’s at the surface if I had to guess. So, in these conditions the mattress was plenty comfortable and warm. I didn’t feel a drain on my body temperature.Therma-Rest mattresses have always been dependable for me. I don’t backpack a lot, maybe one trip with multiple overnights per year over the past 10 years. And I use tents with floors which I try to keep very clean. So, the mattresses have been very well protected from punctures and wear. If I wanted to sleep under the stars or a tarp, I would use a ground cloth. This mattress uses thin lightweight fabric. The trade-off for the reduced weight is a more fragile construction. It is built for the person who is looking to save ounces and is used to being careful with all their gear. This is just one more piece. It’s very comfortable, easy to use and very practical if used carefully. Recommended.

The gold standard for inflatable sleeping pads, and I’ve tried MANY!
The first inflatable pad I’ve had that doesn’t stretch or lose pressure after inflating! I’m so used to inflating my pads super hard so they MIGHT make it thru the night without sagging. I inflated it hard like all the other pads I’ve used, and in the middle of the night it was STILL rock hard and I had to release air! And on that subject, the valve is pure genius! Love the deflate lever-portion of the valve combined with the normal screw-cap, that makes it so easy to let out just the right amount of air WHILE I’M LAYING ON IT! It is pricey, but sometimes you get what you pay for, and this is that case! I’ve certainly spent WAY more than this cost on all my previous pads, had I known THIS was the one, I would have got this pad first and saved a lot of money!

My mat completely deflated!!
I bought this mat after lots of research, and hoping to use unit for a multi-day hiking trip. I tried it on my carpeted floor at home first, and it totally deflated overnight. I tried it again the next night, as I thought perhaps I hadn’t tightened the wing valve properly. It totally deflated again!! The mat is completely useless to me, and my attempts to get a response from the manufacturers has led me up multiple dead ends. I’m so disappointed, and am hopeful that the manufacturers will read this message and contact me.

Light, firm, but too small.
The pad is firm enough. But the regular is too small width-wise. I believe the regular wide will be perfect.

Itâs worth it
So far, itâs been awesome experience with this. Saves weight with no compromise on comfort

Game Changer
Used for a back country hunt which got between 0-10 degrees cold n some nights. Pad did such a good job that when I rolled over I could feel that portion of my bodies warmth versus the other parts of my body. My buddy had a different pad and froze due to it. Out of 10 days I only needed to reinflate once and it was likely due to being set up in 45 degree weather and the temp dramatically dropping the following days.

Good and reliable
Despite being quite thin I haven’t had issues with leaks. I’m glad I got the wide version because It’s not even that wide, it feels like the size it should be. It kept me plenty warm with a quilt and was comfortable enough when inflated all the way. It seemed a bit difficult to get the air out at first but realized if you open the valve when you are packing up camp that it will deflate almost all the air on its own.

I received the isomatte today and just found that a died fly is sealed on the surface of the mat, what a bad factory condition can make this happen ??

Nice, comfortable and warm enough for 3 season use. These are good quality and I’ve found they last for years if looked after correctly. A lot of money but great light weight comfortable camping mattress, especially good for long distance hikes. wildwalkinguk
