Customers say
Customers find the foam roller to be super firm and effective for pain relief, particularly after intense workouts, with one customer noting it works well for tight muscles. While many appreciate its hardness, some customers find it too firm and not suitable for beginners.

A must have
I have had back issues for 25+ yrs and this devise has helped me so much. It is a little hard but I slowly rolled this up my spine daily and the pain is decreasing daily. We don’t realize how much we hunch our backs and this roller reverses that putting your disk in place and naturally increasing fluid between the disk. I will forever have this

so helpful during running training.
I’m a runner. I’ve been foam-rolling for a few years now, and I’ve found it dramatically decreases how often I need to take a day off. I foam-roll my calves and thighs immediately before, and then again after, any hard training.Let’s be clear about one thing: this is the most firm foam-roller I have ever used. And that’s a good thing, once you’re ready for it.If you are unfamiliar with self-massage using a foam roller, there are many articles explaining the concept just a few mouse-clicks away. To summarize, the idea is to decrease post-workout discomfort and downtime by improving the performance of the lymphatic system. Basically, you press sore parts of your body against a firm object using a rolling motion, which moves the byproducts of anaerobic respiration away from the muscles and toward the lymph nodes.PRO:-firmness: words do not describe this well. But it is good for working on deep knots.-fit and finish: no rough edges or uncomfortable spots.-hollow: you can stuff other gym gear into the middle during transport, unlike a solid roller.-strong: supports up to 500 lbs of static load, should never wear out.-suggestions: The inside of the cardboard packaging shows several ways to use a foam roller, which is great for newbies.CON: (none really)-price: similar designs are available under $20 (but they aren’t as nice)-packaging: somewhat hard to figure out how to remove.-newbie-friendliness: a roller this firm can be extremely uncomfortable if you work out a lot, but don’t presently perform self-massage afterward. try a softer model for starting, you’ll thank me later.I used to carry the normal GRID and a lacrosse ball. Now I just use this.

Make sure you recognize this is the EXTRA FIRM version
It was recommended to me that to treat pain I was having in my back to use a foam roller on specific muscle groups. I first borrowed one from a friend since I was on the road and didn’t have time to order one for myself. When I returned home, I ordered this product to have my own. I did not realize when I ordered it that it was the EXTRA FIRM version of the foam roller. This is very important to know, because the pressure is very different, and at first it was pretty painful. Given regular use, I’m actually glad I ended up with the extra firm version, because it is exactly what I need, but it took some acclimation. The results of using it are nothing short of fantastic–if a trainer of physical therapist has recommended using one, it’s been a great treatment and I won’t go run or go to training of any kind without using this first as part of warm up, as well as after as part of cool down. The only thing I’d change in the listing is making specific note in the product title (not just description) that this is the extra firm version, because it’s not for everyone.

Overall, I still think it’s ok and works fine but a smooth surface foam roller is better in my opinion so I’ll be switching back
This is a good, very firm foam roller. I’ve used every type there is including trading the foam rolls for a PVC pipe once recommended by a trainer. I purchased the TriggerPoint roller because I needed to try something new in an effort to help my IT bands loosen up because they stay really tight no matter what. I learned a few things including that the “divots” in this foam roller don’t really increase the benefits of foam rolling. For me at least, it seemed to actually have the slight opposite effect because when you use a smooth surface foam roller you can better feel the location of the knots/ adhesions that need to be rolled out – with the ridges and divots in this foam roller you can’t feel them out very well. Overall, I still think it’s ok and works fine, but a smooth surface foam roller is better in my opinion so I’ll be switching back.

Very Satisfied.
Perfect!I’m in physical therapy recovering from knee surgery and was turned onto rolling muscles there. I immediately went to the hardest foam roller they have but it was still a bit soft for me.This thing is really firm without being a pointy edge. It’s pretty awesome if you ask me. Pain tolerance is very subjective so here’s a basis for comparison: I’m the type of person that uses broomstick wedged between the wall and the floor poking into my hamstring, I’ll find where it hurts most, and I lean all of my weight into it. Take that as you will, but with that in mind, this roller isn’t “too soft” for me. I like it very much. Also, I’m 6’3″ 195lbs and the 13″ width works just fine for me. I do not roll two legs at once though…I get all of my weight over each leg separately the maximize the effect. If I was doing both legs at once it may be a tad short.

Yes. It is very firm. I’ve attached a pic with a cheap foam roller and a homemade one (hard plastic tube with gym mat wrap). Whilst it’s certainly firmer than the standard foam roller it’s not like the homemade one bcos thats HARD. I would not imagine a reasonable fit person experiencing any problem with the Grid X and certainly not any athletic person. NOT the widest of roller at 33cm so check the width if your massive. Would imagine it may be uncomfortable if your overlapping the ends. ( never experienced/ tryed that???)

This roller is FIRM!!! If you canât take any sort of pain, donât buy this. If you need relief from tight muscles, and you enjoy the pain of deep tissue, this roller is for you! I use it on my legs, front, back, in and outside and on my back. This thing works GOOD!!!

This is a genuine product. This is one of the best rollers in the world. This is the roller you get if you seriously want performance and real recovery. Everything else made by cheap Indian brands is crap. This will cost you, but this will be worth your money and then some.
