Very nice.
Well made, nice finish inside and out. For my use, omelets and creeps, I wish the sides were a little shallower slope but far better than the first one I ordered. Seems reasonably even but I have not done the toast test yet. ( Gas stove) Switching to stainless from coated takes a little learning. Wife says a little heavy, yea more than Faberware or Teflon aluminum but no where near iron. You have to have that internal mass for evenness.

Probably one of the best investments I have made. LEARN HOW TO COOK WITH STAINLESS STEEL
There are some things you should know before getting this amazing stainless steel pan. The thing is, yes, if you don’t SEASON your stainless steel and throw in things it will definitely stick.- Try to bring things like eggs near to your ambient temperature. Sometimes it doesn’t matter in the sense that it might be inevitable that it will stick. The trick is being patient and learning how to handle the heat.- BUY but don’t overly abuse Bar’s Keeper Friend. It will truly be your best friend when maintaining your stainless steel and this means that if you have residue/chemical stuff you can easily remove it all and bring it back to its original state with pouring some Bar’s Keeper Friend and softly/gently taking off the residue on the surface. You should NEVER try to put force to clean your stainless steel. It will damage your pan. It’s not rocket science. It takes patience and learning about your stovetop more than you think. Heat distribution works different with stainless steel cookware versus teflon/hexclad pans. They don’t have the same heat distribution dynamics therefore don’t try to just have your stainless steel heated at high and wonder why things went wrong. Usually I stay around medium to medium-low because of how good this thing distributes heat and retains heat. After learning how to use my pan I can cook almost anything on it. Rice, poultry, meats, etc etc. It’s just that good. It shouldn’t be a surprise either that. The pan itself is heavy at first but not heavier than a cast iron pan of the same size. It can take some time to adjust to the weight and knowing the heat distribution. Once you learn that you are on your way making eggs, fish, etc all contents that might “stick” but doesn’t because you seasoned your pan before using it.Cleans very easily most of the time. I still maintain its surface with Bar’s Keeper Friend. Do not buy stainless steel cookware without it becauseh onestly you might be degrading your stainless steel cookware further. If it sticks it’s not because the pan is bad. It is because you need patience and understanding on how to handle things on this type of cookware.

Poor quality, second hand never getting it again
Very bad, too cheap quality and wasnât even properly packed when arrived. It was already torn and the item was as if someone else was returning and instead of going to the seller, it came to my doorstep. It was second hand and had black stains all over it

Great pan but DO NOT PUT INTO DISHWASHER
This is a great pan but do not put into a dishwasher. It will develop surface pit rust. The 3rd time I washed my pan in the dishwasher I felt some rough spots on the handle and edge of the pan. Looking at it, I saw several spots of pit rust that had formed. Using a lot of elbow grease and a scrubbing sponge, I was able to remove it and now hand wash the pan after use. The rust spots haven’t reappeared so far after a couple of more months of use. Pan cooks great and I prefer to use it over some of the other multi layer fry pans I own. It weighs as much as a similar cast iron pan I own but doesn’t need the extra care you have to give the cast iron. Overall, I’m pleased with the pan and will continue to use it frequently.

Great Alternative To Avoid Chemical Coatings
First off, the pan was described as an 18/0 alloy of stainless steel (which would probably be a bad idea) while the details on the product listing said it was 18/10 stainless. I thought I’d trust that Viking was smart enough to choose a good alloy and luckily it turned out to be what I wanted which was 18/8 stainless.Secondly, this pan is not the Viking Stainless Professional series so it is absolutely made in China. I did research and traced the model number to figure that out. That’s disappointing because there are numerous cases of Chinese steel suppliers delivering less expensive alloy alternatives so the extra money spent on this versus other options may not be warranted. That being said, the pan is asthetically and functional very pleasing. I washed and gently seasoned the pan before the first use which I’ve never done for stainless but I will do from now on. Heat conduction on this pan is much better than an old 10″ Kirkland (Costco). It heats up much more quickly than my identically sized Zwilling ceramic. Heat up pan with med or med low heat (conduction is so good I need less heat than with other pans) then add fat (oil or butter) then food. I’ve done eggs over easy, scrambled, and omelettes all without issues sticking. No discoloration of pan inside or out and I’m using gas burners.Great pan, recommended buy. But I can’t yet tell if the extra $20 for the Viking name is justified. I’m tempted to try a cheaper option before I replace the rest of my pans.I’m never going back to non-stick coatings including ceramic. I believe this pan will last a lifetime without risks of chipping complex chemicals into my food.

Hooked on Viking
This is my second Viking pan, and I get the hype. Unbeatable quality. Heavy weight, even cooking, and most importantly, my spouse with multiple sclerosis can hold the handle pain-free. Worth every penny. Iâm a convert!
