Fun and simple idea, but challenging
I honestly don’t know how I want to star this. 5 stars because it’s exactly as billed, the paint is bright and smooth and looks to adhere well. The wooden blocks are smooth with no sharp edges or small pieces of concern. The insects are bright colored and “fun” which hopefully will help with their fear of bugs. The concept of this toy is to stack/balance the “bugs” on the balance board. The younger ones (3) are drawn to the wooden pieces for playing with on the table/floor without any stacking/balancing. But it’s taking the older ones (8 &10) to really grasp the idea of the balance bar on top of the curved “Insect World” piece. The teetering nature of it makes stacking one at a time nearly impossible. It takes two hands with pieces on opposite ends, then build from there. Hard to make it a game for two, but they were finding their ways. The pieces lack obvious interlocking “hooks” or indents so they do have to use their minds to try to figure out how to make them hold together. It can be done, but it was challenging to get them all stacked, even for the adults. It occupied the 8 yr old for quite a while though and the younger one loved just having the bugs in his collection of toys for his little mind. It’s odd that a learning toy uses identical letters for I and L, but that’s not really worthy of a deduction. A marker will fix it. Kids have fun with it at grandma & grandpa’s house, so it’s a win for us and them. Whether it will lead them to become engineers, I don’t know, but it puts a smile on their face, so I’m sold.

More difficult than it appears
Well made, sturdy wood. The pieces are cute. We used them for a different type of activity since my child is too young to “stack” the pieces. I had a hard time getting them to stack.

Vibrant color, sturdy material and lightweight
We couldn’t figure out the balancing when stacking it up so we gave up. However, my son still finds it very entertaining and fun to play since he loves insect and bugs. The colors vibrant and very lovely. It is sturdy and durable due to the wood material used although you cannot avoid scratches.

Educational and fun!
Cutest manipulative to have in your classroom or home for the spring! Kids loved to use this manipulative and explore the different bugs that they’ve seen outside. It was for great use for my toddler class. The balancing was difficult for them, but the size of these pieces was good for their age and little hands. Easy to play with and no assemble required. The quality of the wood is great, they are very colorful and look realistic which calls kids attention to play.

Very cute! Hard to balance
This is the cutest balancing set I’ve ever gotten! This is also the most challenging set I’ve ever played with. The red stick having to be balanced in addition to the other pieces balancing is such a welcome challenge! The colors are bright and beautiful, perfect for little kids. They’re a great size for my toddler and older kid to play with.

Cute But No!
These little insect “blocks” are adorable, well painted, bright and colorful! That said, the intended purpose is almost impossible for the target age range. They are way too smooth / slick to stack, especially on a teeter totter stand. I tried myself, with no luck!I decided to put them in my classroom sensory bin in pretend dirt with flowers etc for Spring. The kids are loving that.

High quality wood toy with vibrant colors
This little balance game is awesome! Each insect is brightly painted on both sides so no matter which angle you can see what it is. The pieces are high quality wood and quite thick as you can see. My toddler absolutely loved this game and is having fun naming each insect, so the game is not only good for hand eye coordination, but also a great way to get your toddler to speak more words as they balance them. I also like how you can flip the balance bar for a harder game. This will definitely be in our rotation especially as the rainy season is coming.

Fun and thoughtful toy for curious kids
I got this insect toy set for my nephew, and it’s been a great hit. The wooden pieces are solid and well-painted, and they actually look like little bugs, not just random shapes. He enjoys stacking them and pretending to create little bug adventures. It’s a simple toy, but it encourages storytelling and focus. I also appreciate that it’s made from natural materials—no plastic, no noise, just hands-on learning. Great for quiet play or preschool activities.
