Hard to clean
No matter how much soap I use the smell of what was cooked in it is still there. I j.g ave to leave it in direct sunlight for 1 hour then wash with baking soda and vinegar. That’s the only way to get the smell out

Very good, except for stains on the SS inner surface.
Very good if you don’t care about the stains in the frying contact area. Compact and very good structure. Good for the cost.

Love it
Great pan. I have just started using stainless steel pans and cast iron. I got rid of all my old pans and love using the new ones. The stainless steel is a dream to cook with, easy to keep looking great. If anything sticks to it, just sprinkle it with kosher salt and a little water, wait a little bit and clean with a soft brush or cloth, a small amount of dish soap. Rinse and dry it thoroughly and spray again with Pam or veg oil and wipe dry. It will stay beautiful for years to come. I love this pan.

Easily damaged by heating
I cook with Stainless Steel pans all the time. This is the first pan that I’ve used that immediately discolored on its first use before reaching high heat on a gas stovetop. Mind you, I know about the characteristics of heating temperatures and pans, but this pan’s Stainless Steel alloy, or perhaps gauge, appears to be sub-standard since it discolored a large portion of the pot before it even reached a high temperature.Pay a bit more for a better tool to do your frying.

Not very easy to clean, not a nonstick surface
Not a good pan for non-stick even when using non-stick spray

Stainless pans stick a bit more but last longer
Remember, the measurement is the lip of the pan. This 8″ pan is about 5″ on the flat (bottom) of the pan. I find this a good size for scrambled eggs or a burger patty. Use on medium low heat or food (especially eggs) will stick. After a 15 minute soak the stuck food will wash out easily with a plastic faced sponge.I’ve paid 2X and 3X this price for similar brand name pans and these work as well. The thick bottom distributes heat well and it works well for popping into the oven.

Terrific pan, it conducts heat so well and cooks up the food so nicely.

Bought this pan alongside a Demeyere, 8 inch, impact bonded, same style of pan but this one was a third of the price. Side by side, they’re very similar, nice weight to both… Cooks great, this is a SURPRISINGLY well-made, heavy, sturdy pan. Seeing it side by side with a $70 frying pan, I’d be hard pressed to not just grab this one and call it a day.QUICK TIPS FOR STAINLESS:- It’s normal for it to discolour, it’s not ruined, it’s just a reaction from heat, minerals in the water, etc that soap doesn’t get rid of it. Barkeeper’s Friend will have your stainless looking like brand-new again without water stains.- You need to pre-heat the pan in order to stop food from cooking.- This particular 8 inch pan is GREAT for induction, especially portable induction. It’s BETTER than a 3 or 5-ply pan, because it has a very stick bottom which makes it less likely to warp, which can be a huge problem, esp on induction, and esp with larger pans and tri-ply pans… So, with its thicker bottom (impact bonded/encapsulated), this pan is IDEAL for a small induction cooktop. The heating surface in MOST small induction cooktops are very small, sometimes even 3 inches, which means most of the heat is concentrated into that small area, which means larger pans will warp more easily as the small center of the pan heats up much quicker. The thick base on this pan helps prevent that, and even comapred to the Demeyere Resto 8 inch pan, this one has an even smaller bottom area that makes contact with the induction cooktop, making it actually an even better choice than the $70+ Demeyere Resto pan IF (big IF) you’re using induction in particular.Just make sure you know how to use stainless steel, if you’re switching from non-stick and you expect it to work exactly the same, you’re going to have a terrible time! Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it very quickly.Heads up because people were giving this pan 1 star due to food sticking. Stainless steel requires some technique in order to prevent food from sticking. You can even season it like you would cast iron, but simply having it at the correct heat will fix most sticking issues, oil handles the rest. You need to warm up the pan before using it, whereas non-stick coated pans are a lot more forgiving of poor cooking technique. Not trying to disrespect anyone who had troubles, but most negative experiences with stainless pans come from a lack of knowledge about what a stainless steel pan is and how it works. Buying a stainless steel pan, using it incorrectly, then leaving a 1 star review would be like buying a bottle of water then leaving a 1 star review because it’s not chocolate milk.
