The Best for Sweaty Yoga
I randomly get the urge to be healthy and exercise, and hot yoga in winter is one of my favorite activities to do when these urges strike. Iâll happily use any excuse to get out of it, so after my last class I realized I didnât like having to constantly adjust my towel on my mat during class, or having the mat get too slippery if I risk it without a towel. Enter this purchaseâwhat came up when I searched for âbest yoga mats for hot yoga.âFirst, the two cons: Itâs a little heavier than you might expect a yoga mat to beânot like a two-handed situation but if you struggle carrying things on your shoulders, definitely take a look at the weight prior to ordering. Second, you will have to bring a towel with you regardless, a lot of studios require you to have a towel so have one with you just in case they put their foot down. Most people listen when you say itâs special for hot yoga, but sometimes their liability insurance is more picky. Now on to the pros (of which there are many): Itâs a soft purple design, pretty and not too loud. The mat is made of thick cushionâeven these old lady knees can get through a whole class without needing additional padding. Because of creaky/crunchy knees, I got the thicker pad as Iâve had to use several towels in the past to keep it from hurting. It rolls up easily and the strap provided is functional (though not luxurious). The mat is easy to clean, can be rinsed off in the shower if needed, and I havenât noticed it retains smell at all.FInally, itâs a little spendy. You might have balked at the price, especially given there are many mats available for much cheaper. But, if this mat is going to be the difference between working out or not, for me its worth the cost.

Best yoga mat I’ve had
I was skeptical this would be worth the money, but I love it. I don’t do hot yoga, but sometimes in a flow class my hands / feet can get a little sweaty. Zero problems with slipping using this mat, unlike the more standard foam like ones I’ve used in the past, and it’s also soft / feels nice. It’s really pretty, I’ve gotten a few compliments on it. Definitely would recommend it.

Super durable.
Lasts super long. Iâve used this mat 2-3 times a week for hot yoga class for 2.5 years and itâs still great. I bought a second one to alternate which one is hanging to dry. These are my favorite. You just need to get your hands damp and youâll stick to the mat fine. Beautiful coloring. Enjoy!

Lovely yoga mat
I love the look and feel of this mat. I do âwarmâ yoga (at a hot yoga place) and I sweat A LOT. I always feel secure using this mat, it does a great job soaking up my sweat. It never feels slippery. Some parts of the mat are slightly textured which I think is nice for added grip.I recently discovered that it also glows! (See pic) which is some added fun. I get a lot of compliments on my mat and overall Iâm happy with my purchase. My only negative would be that it gets stinkyâ¦after wiping down at the end of class with cleaner Iâve learned that I need to take it home and unroll it to let it air out since it holds so much moisture. Even doing that it sometimes smells a little but maybe I just need to get another cleaner or something.

Best mat EVER
I have clocked in just over 500 hours on this mat since purchasing it 2 years ago. I am leaving a review this much later because it haunts me that I havenât said anything yet depite being grateful for it every single day!The grip is PHENOMENAL- sweaty or not I have never once felt like I was going to slip out of a pose and having such a dependable surface letâs me focus completely on my practice.I also know this is probably a personal preference- but this lays perfectly flat always. No matter how tightly I roll it up- when I roll it out there is never a lifted edge or corner to kick at and it is such a beautiful thing.I recommend this to everyone and while this thing is so durable I feel it might last my lifetime- when it does start to wear down I will be purchasing again.

Finally no slipping around
Disclaimer: I havenât had this very long. But here are my initial thoughts. The palm tree mat is just what I wanted. I love it. If I had to describe what this mat is like… itâs basically like a huge mouse pad. So it doesnât move around at all. Itâs soft on top and doesnât feel as rough on my old lady knees. Iâve always had a hard time with my hands slipping everywhere with my old mat. I had to buy gloves, which arenât super comfy. All the slipping around really impacts my form. Makes my wrists hurt. And I donât feel like Iâm getting all the benefits of yoga. This mat is SO much better so far. You do slip a little at first. But once your hands get warmed up, youâre good to go! I put lotion on my hands right before I get started and that seems to help with the beginning slipperiness. This mat is obviously more expensive than other mats. But for me, it seems worth it. I figured it was time to really invest in yoga if Iâm going to keep at it.

Great mat for moderately sweaty folks
I struggled to find a nice thick mat that I didnât slip on for my vinyasa practice. Iâm moderately sweaty and practice 3-4 times a week. This mat fits the bill! The design is fresh and fun and the micro suede top keeps me from sliding around with a few sprays of water before class. Itâs held up well in the year Iâve been using it and is still in fantastic shape. The only downside that Iâve found is that drying it after washing was tricky- I washed in the washing machine as suggested and then laid out to dry, it took several days in the summer for it to be completely dry. Maybe I needed to run it in the spin cycle another time, but it for sure took longer than I thought it would.

So easy to clean
Iâve been practicing hot yoga for the past year. Iâve tried a variety of mats.Manduka Pro – Too slippery, needed towelManduka GRP – Good mat but hard to clean if you sweat heavy and the open cell format takes a long time to dryLululemon – good mat but had to clean as well. This mat is different in that you can just throw it in the washing machine and hang dry it. Takes about 3 hours to dry on a rack in my laundry room.It is thin 3.5mm. If is also shorter and narrower than other mats Iâve used which for me, isnât an issue.I sweat enough to saturate the mat and work out on it daily. It has a great grip.Iâll continue to use this brand of mat.

The top is more like a felt material. Not what I expected. It attracts dog hair and any other fibres. I was worried I would slide on it during hot yoga but it works well

This is such a beautiful mat! The towel surface has a âsuedeâ feel, so great! Many people complained about the surface being âslipperyâ, I have dry hands but didnât feel any slippage at all! Maybe it is because I practice on carpet and have a 1cm yoga pad underneath. Anyways, this is an amazing mat! Simply love love love it!
